No Travel Game Jam

So today I finish my Thesis, thus time to make a fun game for this incredible jam!

Do the projects have to only use the default rtp? I'm working on a game for a jam that would fit this one too.

@Chez No, you can use any resources or styles that you want (assuming you're legally allowed to use them). The only two restrictions are these:

Engine: Any RPG Maker or VNM
Restrictions: Entire Game must take place in ONE village/town/city. All locations must be within the bounds of the town. (Dungeons can be things like abandoned factories, mansions, sewers, etc.)

So....um....you guys are going to finish your games, right? It would be an awkward game jam if there ended up only being two entries. It'd be somewhat difficult for the people on the review end of the jam to get three reviews in if there are only two games.

I just submitted my game so as of now there are at least three games available for the jam

And as Touchfuzzy noted there are probably going to be a lot more games at the end of the month.

Question about review submission:
Are you allowed to publish the reviews outside of the forum, say on a blog?

agreed with @Canini my submission for the jam is "complete" so there will be ateast 4 games!

I'm currently in the playtesting phase trying to eliminate as much error as possible. However, i have a little one AND an 8 week old puppy at home who are already partners in crime, so playtesting will take a little time.

The point is for it to be entirely in one town. So yes it has to be in a town/village/city.

Same for me, I need to cut my game a lot. But I think, we are know that 1 month is a very short time and it's not really a competition, so no one will complain about a game which is short or not 100% perfect

I think you can encrypt your game when you deploy it, so it can't be reused by thiefs. For me, I will upload my game on a personal webspace as Browser Game, but the easiest method is to just upload the game as zip on Google Drive and publish it in the Sumbission Thread.

I had just submitted my first demo to the completed forum when I saw the No Travel Game Jam in the first week of April and didn't get seriously started till the 2nd week! But I've been working on this every day, 10-to-12 hours a day, since, and, I think I'm gonna make it... It's totally all in town, has an A/B storyline, gardening, forestry, fishing, mining, casino, 5 or 6 questlines, cultural references, tons of dialog and an all original animated sideview monster for the final boss fight.

I work all day but I still have so much left :") No way it's going to be a 'complete' game but it's surely going to be complete in a way XD I mean, I have so much planned and a month wasn't enough (actually stuff started to make sense after 13th April. I threw 1st April - 12th April's work in the garbage cause it s*cked) so I had to cut some stuff and put those on hold. Thinking up these room escape sorta puzzles killed my brain but I'm slowly getting there.. Somehow...

@Dama I remember playing a game years ago called 'Who Killed Touchfuzzy?' Presumably he's going to die in this one too.

See I'm just imagining a game where the heroes are trying to leave the town, but I keep showing up to tell them the rules say they can't leave.

Also, yeah we did several contests pre RMW days back on RMVX.net that were community games (so lots of characters were community members and there were lots and lots of injokes). Which was where Who Killed Touchfuzzy came from. Also In Midnight, which was my favorite cause the injokes were just so good.

Great, now I got the urge to shoehorn Touchfuzzy into my game, too.

Working hard to get as much amusing stuff into my entry as possible. It will be about 55 % as long as originally envisioned, but apparently be within the recommended frame of playtime.
