Okay, so recently I've purchased a copy of both RPG Maker VX Ace and RPG Maker 2003 through Steam. The problem part of that being, "through Steam", so after some looking around on a solution I sent a support ticket to the official website to ask for a Product ID for the standalone versions, providing proof of purchase as well. The response was less than satisfactory... because both products are "stable on Steam", the Product IDs couldn't be granted. Technically this is true but besides the point of my enquiry.

Is there a solution to this? I despise the Steam platform and almost never use it, much less have it installed. Yet if I do that I'll be unable to use these products. I had assumed that having purchased a copy of the products, it'd be right to provide customers a standalone key provided proof of purchase was shown, but apparently not. At the same time I shouldn't have to re-purchase the product on the official website.

Failing the above, is there any way possible to use my Steam-RPG Maker without Steam being present at all on my machine?

Unfortunately the option you were referenced to for Ace was discontinued two years ago (or so, I don't remember when exactly), and it never existed for RM2K3

As for using the steam version without steam - the programs can be used in offline mode and you don't need to be connected to steam or online to use them after they're downloaded and started once, but as far as I know they can't be used without steam at all.

But if you force steam permanently into offline mode then that should not be more than some wasted place on your harddrive.

I guess I'll be forever unable to use these products then. It's usually standard for game publishers/companies that product ID can be retrieved for a purchased program/game. (Usually if the original is lost but not exactly in this case.) I was expecting something similar here but that's fine.

Either way Steam is a complete no-go, offline mode or no.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
