Okay, so playing around with different menu scripts and the defualt menu script made me realize I can't get what I want doing that (with my current lack of scripting skills, that is).
If you've seen me popping around already, you know I'm on the quest to make a dating sim.
So, I still want a menu, but I would really like something far more simple.
My request script includes:
1. I want 4 command options on the menu screen and that's all.
That being Items, Cellphone, Save Game, and End Game
And I would like the viewing of player status turned off.
2. When Items is selected, I want items and key items to remain but that is all.
3. I want Cellphone to function as Status screen, but I would like is that in the Status list will be all the important characters you meet. I think the easiest way to do that is to make them part of your party without them following you(?).
4. Just the basic save game option lol.
5.And Game End of ofcourse.
If more information is needed, let me know, trying to keep my request easy and basic lol.
I think I can go in with custom scripts for the rest.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
