Non-Lehtal Damage/KO System

With the emergence of Hime's Custom Death State plug-in, I had the idea of creating

an Unconscious state that would be applied exclusively to monsters as a way of non-lethally taking them out.

Whereas killing them by simply emptying their HP would add to variables that could affect the party's reputation or whatever story events I might

plan for the future.

Then I figured, why stop with skills that cause a status effect?

Why not have the monster's MP be treated as "Stun Health" which MP-damaging weapons and skills take off and then

put in events that knock the monsters unconscious when their MP reaches zero?!

And then I checked the Troop battle event triggers... And couldn't find a trigger based on the enemy's MP level.

So yeah, it does sound like I'm really requesting event triggers for enemy MP and if someone can do that, great!

But if it's possible that someone can create a non-lethal damage/KO system entirely as a script,

that would be excellent!

Interactive Party Followers

Maybe this is possible with some of the currently existing plug-ins and I haven't looked hard enough,

but I wanted to pour this out anyway.

You know the on-screen party followers seem to be just an aesthetic thing, in that they don't seem to interact with the environment or doing anything

special?

If anyone's played Bioware's games, particularly its old Baldur's Gate series as well the KOTOR games, you could split the party up and take control of

individual actors to go wherever you want and do their own thing. Let's say, you need a stealthy person to bypass a room of guards but has the rest of his group getting in the way. Just split the party up, tell the team-mates to stay behind where they are and your stealth operative is free to go away on his own.

This could even be great for puzzles where the party needs to split up and do separate tasks to support each other.

But Black Noise? That was for a real-time RPG that doesn't have separate battle screens like in JRPG's!

What if any of the separated party members gets engaged in battle? Won't the rest of the party be in battle no matter how far away they are?

Well, in the recent Persona games, you could give orders to your immediate party to split up and battle monsters each on their own but also you could directly interact with each character who is visible on screen and follows the player character. You could choose to check their status and skills and change their equipment that way.

Also while you're battling solo, away from your party, you could call them to back you up in case you're having trouble and how many turns it'd take for them to rejoin you would depend on their distance away from you.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
