    Hey there,

I wanted to know, how much useful is the framework for making games which are not focused on rpg content.
Is it really possible??? Please clear my doubt.

@Brian_Arlene456 Your post had nothing to do with the topic you posted in, so I moved it to its own thread and a different forum.

The editor is absolutely usable. The framework can be used too. But I'd drop the engine and develop a fully custom one for it. Of course it is possible even with the default engine. But a custom one is always better.

Might be easier to answer if you'd tell what you'd like to develop... some stuff would be pretty easy, other type of games not.

Yes, it's totally possible. You could theoretically make any kind of game with RPG Maker, but if you want to leverage the framework, it works best with:
    1. 2D pixel art based games.
If you want 3D you'd best use another engine.

    2. Games that run on windows.
It CAN run on mobile, and honestly the latest version is much better optimized, but it's still got performance issues, especially if you want to use plug-ins.

    3. Slower, story-driven games. Not so good for fast paced action games.
Besides RPGs, best used for adventure, sim, or strategy games. Not so good for shooters or platformers.
RPG Maker has an excellent editor that saves you lots of time when making complicated events. But it's not the best engine to use if you want a screenful of enemies with a billion flying bullets. It doesn't have built in physics or precise collision detection systems. Now I don't doubt someone out there probably made a plug-in which addresses these problems, but it's not part of the core engine.

I have an impression that the great majority of popular RPG Maker games (from japanese horror like Yume Nikki / Witch's House to western hits like To The Moon) forgo RPG elements entirely and create games from other genres (mostly adventure)
I advise you take a look at them and see how they're done

i really want more rpg maker RPGs though :<

I use RPG Maker albeit I'll never make a RPG with it.
I like playing them, not making them.
My games are in the Adventure/Visual novel genres and the engine (and graphic resources) helped cut a lot of time in the making.
