Hey guys!

I see all those cool videos of off-grid, zelda-like, rain, shading, atmospheric games, and im kinda just stuck looking at peoples

scripts and understanding very little. I kinda have a basic concept of object oriented programming since i looked at some java,

(which i picked because ruby looked hard to get into after GML), but im not used to the synthax, and i would like to

learn more about scripting , and at the same time learn ruby.

I saw on the internet one video that kinda went step by step, explaining ruby, and doing scripts at the same time (but i guess

i cant link it because he changed the window size, and that is verboten :p )

So yea, do you have anything for me, or is scripting too many levels above?

There are 2 aspects to this

A lot of the things you mention are done by eventing, not by scripts.  Have a look at this  Spend a couple of hours on it, and your knowledge will have expanded enormously.

Next, videos are a dreadful way to learn scripting, because you can't see the difference between (), [], {} etc at that sort of resolution, and lots of details are lost.  Instead, I suggest you have a look at these tutorials which are excellent and which use real live scripts to show you how it's done.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
