Not exactly new, but not 'old' either.

Hi everyone.

My name is James, I'm from Florida originally and I'm 44 years old.

I bought RPGMVXA last October and have been enjoying the game making experience ever since. I got into gaming when I was a kid, back when my parents bought an Atari 2600 from Sears, for anyone my age who remembers those old consoles, lol.

Anyway, I completed my first game in November, but it was really just a test if I could finish a game. I write books and have failed to finish as many (if not more) as I've self-published.

I'm not new to forums, just to this one. I wrote some Star Wars fanfiction back in the early 2000s and was a part of a nice community there, but I've been away from forums for quite some time.

I hope to make some friends, though I'm not the most social person, lol.

I'm a huge fan of The Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Dragon Age rpgs and want to build a wonderful world of my own.

Welcome to the forums! I'm in the same age range as you but kind of fell out modern gaming around the PS2 Era. So most of my style comes from the classics which is kind of what drew me into RPG Maker.

Don't worry about being overly social. That's kind of par for the course around here. Most of us are likely pretty introverted.

Enjoy your stay. It's a great community we've got here.

Thanks Frogboy. I see you're not weak to fire. That's good. :p

I see what you're talking about gaming wise. As I get older, my reflexes fell through the floorboards, but when I discovered Star Wars: KOTOR, I was in a new world of delightful possibilities. I play RPGs exclusively, and I really only like Western RPGs, though of course Zelda is an old favorite.

I hope to release some interesting, thought provoking games in the future. Thanks again for the welcome; I hope to be of help to the people around me as well as get some help, too.

Look forward to seeing you put some games out. I'm a generalist when it comes to RPGs, but there's a special place in my heart for the traditional Western roleplaying adventure games. I've enjoyed them, but have never finished one. Still, I think good sportsmanship applies with the RPG world as in other video games.

My 2d reflexes are still good. I can still play the classics with the best of 'em. Just never really transitioned to 3d very well mostly because I don't really like first person shooters.

Hi James. I'm new here myself, and also an older gamer. I can't tell you how many hours I spent in front of the TV playing Atari 2600 Asteroids and Pitfall and Frogger and on and on and on when I was little. Such awesome memories! Anyway, I saw your post and thought I'd say hi. :)

Asteroids and Adventure, Space Invaders and Pacman! Man, I miss those days, lol.

Anyway, I saw your post and thought I'd say hi. :)
Hey CoconutCream, 'hi' back.

CaptainRadish, sir! *Salutes* I hope to get some games out.

Thanks for the greetings. :)

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
