Hello everyone,

I just got back from the hospital and feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Thank you everyone for your kindness. Gives me more motivation to finish my game. I'm trying to stay positive and not let my anxiety stop me from doing what I love. Creating games and sharing them with other creative talented people.
I'm staying far away from social media like Twitter, Youtube, Tumblr and Reddit. There are a lot of dream killers out there so don't allow bullies to make you doubt yourself and feel embarrassed to express yourselves.
I will still go on this forum as much as I can. I am trying to be more balanced and not neglect myself physically or mentally. I want to earn money by working from home, making sure to eat healthily and excerise, go outside and finish my projects.

I'm going to be on social media a lot less because I need to relax and not let my anxiety get the best of me.
Thank you everyone. Feel free to send me a message or chat on my profile pages
Love you all

Welcome back and no pressure on how little/often you hang out with us. I hear you on social media too; it sometimes makes me feel utterly worthless and I get upset at how rude people are to each other. RPG Maker has been a good distraction and I've found this forum to be an awesome community! Getting familiar with the forum and interacting with you all has been a lot of fun.

Thank you for your reflection.
Yeah, I need to cut down on the social chat on the discord too and learn be less reactive. People there is nice, but I need reducing distraction. Then, I get increasingly my anxiety too just like your observation.

It's pretty scary how toxic social media has become. Reality is a much nicer place than some people would lead you to believe. Something that helped me a lot with this sort of thing was to realize that I should give more consideration to where the opinions are coming from when deciding how much attention I should give it. I used to give a lot of weight to the opinions of people I didn't think highly of, didn't like, and didn't trust, but almost ignored the opinions of people I did like, thought highly of, and trusted, simply because I thought the people I cared about were biased, and the people I disliked weren't. But in the end I was striving to become a person that would only suit the tastes of people I didn't like the tastes of. I think it's best to try to surround yourself with people and opinions that make you strive to be a better person without making you feel less about who you are right now.

Welcome back! I hope you continue in this healthy mindset and have lots of fun making games!

I have made it a point to never get involved in social media. Too many jerkwads and generally unpleasant people to be found.

More importantly, I'm glad you're staying positive. We honestly need more positivity in the world, especially given the way things are these days. I only hope that I, and the forum as a whole, can offer at least a little bit of extra light in your life when you visit here.

I left Facebook because of the actual Social Media, not the community. Not being able to freely express your feelings was the cutoff point for me.

Still on twitter and Instagram (hardly).

In any event, I've seen even the nicest of places turn sour in a matter of minutes.

If possible, stay offline (entirely) for about a week and come back slowly. If not, Social Media would be the best place to isolate from, for now.

Ever been on Gamefaqs? All too often that place is as toxic as poisonous swamp. The conversations I've seen there. . . yikes.

LOL. Yeah I only use Gamefaqs for the walkthroughs. I avoid the forums, there is way too much bullying and trolling there.

Yep, this is great advice. I promise you feel a lot better mentally and physically. Constantly being worried and anxious all the time isn't healthy. Oh and avoid reading the news and gossip sites as well. The fear-mongering and catty comments will wear you down as well. Remember you all not alone in feeling anxious, there is always support if you need it. :)

Edit:

Made a self care thread. I thought you all would find it helpful. :)

When I'm stressed, I either pick up a video game, listen to chill music, or start writing to unwind and relax.

Mind you, if anyone tries to use video games too, don't play something like Dark Souls or any survival horror. The point is to relax, not struggle to survive.

I understand that feeling. I deleted my social medias a long time ago because of the negative impact social media has had on people. I just recently made a new twitter to follow some of my developer friends and acquaintances. I'm a mental health advocate so I always try to encourage and contribute to a good environment. I especially understand trying not to let your anxiety get the best of you. I need to take an excessive amount of medications per day for my mental disabilities and disorders and even then it's still hard to deal with anxiety. Anxiety is a secret boss with higher stats than one would think. It's hard to beat but luckily for you I have healing potions and phoenix downs. If you're ever feeling anxious or down and need someone to talk to, feel free to message me.

I'm sorry to hear that you suffer from anxiety, and I can totally relate! I have always struggled with some serious anxiety... However, I am glad to hear that you are taking steps to improve your situation and outlook! I too am a new member of this community, but not new to the RPG Maker Series of software. I spent many hours playing around with RPG Maker 2003 and XP back in the day, but it's been quite some time.

I have decided to pick up RPG Maker MV, and plan to start it up tomorrow to tinker around and explore it like the good old days. I haven't really had much of a creative way to blow off steam in quite some time, and while I love doing what I do (software engineer & web developer)... I am seriously looking forward to some stress free fun.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
