Not showing Japanese alphabet...

Hey!

This is occuring...

In the red circle there's supposed to be japanese alphabet writing. Though it shows those 'boxes'.
I've even tried changing the system locale to Japanese but still shows this
And this shows on the default message box as well.
Please help

That is because the font English VXAce uses doesn't support Japanese characters. You need to use a font that does, like MSGothic and MSMincho if it is even possible to use them. I'm not sure how it is possible to set up a font in VXA.

Weird tho, the default RMVXAce name input IS using japanese alphabet. There is no way that default VXA font wouldn't support japanese text in the first place

From what I'm seeing, you're using a font similar with the one that VX used. Did you change your default font by the way? Or you actually use VX?

@Poryg Though I created A LOT of pictures using that font and I would like to keep the same font through all the game.
Though could I edit the font itself?

@TheoAllen Yes I did change my default font and I am using VX Ace

Then, either back using default VX Ace font, or try to use font that supports Japanese characters, which I'm not familiar which font that supports it.

You could edit the font if its' terms of use allow it. Although don't ask me how, since I usually just download a font if I need one

@TheoAllen MSGothic, MSMincho, MSPGothic and MSPMincho support them. Most fonts we know and use (Tahoma, Arial, Times new Roman) don't support them. But I'd recommend getting another one from the internet if I was searching for one that supports hiragana, because MS fonts look really ugly. They are edgy, not smooth. Not good for an rpg maker game.
