Note Input Script? Anyone know how to do this?

Effectively what I need is a script that will create an option in the Esc. menu called Notes, when selected it leads to a menu where players can type their own notes.

I made this crude image in paint to try and demonstrate the exact layout of what I mean to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about:

As you can see, the left box would have a list of all the written notes which when selected would open into the right box and display their text. If [New] is selected, it'll take you to the top-right box, let you input a name for the note, and then let you go to the next box and begin typing whatever it is you need to make a note about.

I tried finding something along the lines of what I'm looking for, but all I could find was an old old script written for RGSS2.

If anyone has the know-how to do this I'll be eternally grateful! Would be happy to offer something in return, if you need some music for a game, for example. Or playtesting or uh... A ... Sprite... Recolour... I dunno. I've a limited skillset. :p

Please and thankyou!

it might be possible to just port that RGSS2 script to RGSS3... so I guess a link to it can be helpful...

Well, I assumed RGSS2 would be incompatible with Ace, but I tried it anyway because why not. And no, it didn't work.

Sadly, or happily xD, RGSS3 had so many changes, almost no script works with it from previous versions.
There, I converted for you xD, not so troublesome, see if this is what you need :p

Thank you for this, Raizen.

I'm having trouble using it, though!

Whenever I call the script I get a syntax error message,game_interpreter line 1411 it says 'expected '=', expecting $end'

What does this mean?

Okay I changed it to call SceneManager.call(Scene_NoteInput) and now when it does I get a new error!

It says line 250: NoMethod Error Occured

                 undefined method ` []' for nil:class

.-., I don`t get how you got the error xD, I tested it and it works just fine now, here the script with everything corrected.

But I don`t have an idea of the error you are getting, put on a new project and seee if it all works fine, maybe its another script thats not compatible with this one.

Argh, it's definitely another script interfering with this one. I put it on a test project and it worked as it should.

Thank you for converting the script, though! It is appreciated :p

Well, if you get the script which is not working with this, you can send me here or via Messagebox that I can make both work together >_<

I'll give the scripts I've added a thorough run-through.

I also want to test later if starting a new game might fix it. I had an old save there I was using and a recent script didn't work with that either, but when I loaded a new game it worked just fine so there may be some similar issues.

Will report back later tonight!

always start new game when adding scripts. :D . older save might not have variable/information needed by the new script.

@raizen: thanks for converting :D .
