Okay, so I'm dropping in here in the middle of the month. Better than not at all, right?

    Goals for November:
    1) Shrink the map window size to accommodate a permanent on-screen "HUD"/set of contextual information windows. Disable map-clicks outside the new map window. (DONE -- accomplished with PIXI masking and some plugin magic..not exactly what I hoped for, but it IS doing the job, and I understand the entire map is drawn all the time regardless, so I don't think I'm losing much with this method)
    2) Make a game page on the forums? This is very scary for me, and I don't know if I will overcome the mental block on this.
    3) Design the "HUD" layout and create its background.

    Progress on the Pangofly Dragon;
    *sigh*
Even low HP/Poisoned that Sprite is rough to describe in a progress goal update
2ndTestPangoflyLowHP.gif yeah... I am working on second segmentation of the tail, times flies and even if it is fun to do I get DC pouting and I turn into a computer potato. Tail translation from side to front takes longer if I wanna keep smooth animation. (As smooth as 3 frames allows... and... Yeah, best not complain pixel by pixel drawing dragons about frame count! ;) )

I felt like nobody believed I worked on that commission anymore. The wings are truly a pain in the ASCII to do... sorta!

    ADDENDUM:
    Ready to post the PNG to the concerned person now. It is the very first time that the tail does not enough movement work to be helpful to the eye right now and I still have troubles to go in a 1232 step in PixelEdit :3 so here with full tail finished;
    3ndTestPangoflyLowHP_Animation 2.gif

2nd ADDENDUM: calculating my current speed dealing with the Pangofly Dragon and RL (or "side quests" projects), I could estimate being able to do one Pangofly Dragon per season! 4 a year Maybe. I am picking up speed as the critter sprite starts to be more and more familiar to me now and also, I can use earlier pose parts as shortcuts.

Just remembered, a belated "YAY, you made it" for those who finished their IGMC entries. : D

@Avery : Thanks for the luck! : D Kinda specific, I want it to be more like a journal. Some quests in it, an overview of what the player has done (in case they didn't play for a while and don't remember where they left off), information on characters, the like, but somewhat nicely organized (and easy to set up).
Good luck (that nothing comes up to interfere) with your goals! : )
@Kes : That sounds great! So it won't take long before this one's done, too, it seems? : D
@Llareian : Good luck with your goals; I can totally understand 2), I think it's scary as well. But have some non-pressuring supportive thoughts: <3
@Marquise* : Yay, pagonfly! It's crazy that there's so much work in such a little image! D:
    @Dalph : Rest well, Sylvester?

    Progress, Nov 12th:
    • it was a short attentionspan day so I only spent about half an hour with Yanfly's Quest Log Plugin. So far it seems to do what I want it to do, but I need to play around some more (and not forget everything I read after three seconds, that was exhausting)
I already wrote down a plan on how to get some familiarity with using it because if it's short attentionspan day again, having something to reference will make it easier.
Also, I'm going to need a test dungeon, my test map is getting crowded. xD Would be a good way to get back into mapping before I have to do some mapping.

@Dalph I read you Dalph! I can get now with my felines and do as Sylvester on your picture! ^^ You take care and relax. I think we deserve it! ^^
@Chiara You Ninjaed me Chiara, XD Awww That Quest log seems pretty interesting. Well only 14 or 16 lil' Pangofly dragon action poses to do. :p I best not count numerically on my side animation poses. -_-; LOL

Sorry, no replies this time. I'm in the midst of allergy testing and feeling kinda icky. So just a simple Go Progress will have to do.

    11.11 - 11.13 Update:
-Fixed up the Secret Rooms and renumbered them.
-Fixed up the rewards from the Secret Rooms.
-Rebalanced some items in the game. The Learner Bracelet gives less EXP than before, but there are a few more tiers of improved versions of it.
-Rebalanced the Shadow skills so they are not so OP against the final boss, but still pretty handy against the midboss (in theory, as balance testing is still needed).
-Fixed various skills so they work better.

I have a feeling I'm going to be sticking to monotonous work until the allergy testing is done (11.20), as that is all I feel up to. Guess it's time to finally fix up dispel so it truly removes the states it should.

Been doing a bunch of menu related stuff in the past 4~5 days
I'm using @TheoAllen 's crafting script and I managed to make a window that shows the before/after of equipment upgrades, so the only thing I need to type by hand are special cases. You can't even tell it's his script anymore

In my equip menu I managed a similar thing. It shows all the stats of the item on another window, also there are some equips which sole purpose is to give skills, so when viewing them it shows a window with the skill names instead, and at which level of upgrade it unlocks them

In the main menu, I finally found a way to show the items equipped. For several months I wanted to do this so that's a relief u.u

And in the inventory menu, I got the code needed to show what enemies drop the item you're looking at, but I'm not sure yet the best way to use that information

Continuing on with my side project.

I've gotten a basic aesthetic feel for each of the floors, fleshed out more of the skills for the player to use, created some basic NPCs for the introductory level, laid out a basic floor plan for each of the ten other levels, & created the lift system for the various levels.

Primary goals I am focusing on moving forward,
    1) Create all the doors for the various levels. (It's a dungeon crawler set on a space station, so there are A LOT of doors)
    2) Create & place the rest of the NPCs in the Prologue Casino/Saloon.
    3) Add dialogue to all of the NPCs in the Prologue Casino/Saloon.
    4) Create survivor NPCs for the station.
    5) Create A.I. villain character.

Progress on the main game window/HUD/UI can be viewed at this link.

(I know it's only been a couple of days, but I'm excited at the progress and I rarely share screenshots.)
Not thrilled with the font. I'm personally in love with it, but it's kind of hard to read right now. I might be able to improve it if I mess with the font outline settings.

Indeed. I don't think this font is particularly good for this size of text. This one I find very pretty and in a medieval style

    Nice,

That looks ideal to go with some medieval parchment color backgrounds I am using, for when the player reads various books on my primary project.

I've finished my organisation of my translation topic. It took way too long (but hey, that's what happens when you've translated 147 sites, right? ;) )
Now to go through that backlog...

I've also fixed several bugs in my IGMC entry. To be honest, I'm surprised at the amount, I figured there would be much more, but hey can't complain. :D I'll probably be updating the download next week (and posting a topic here as well).

I fixed all bugs that have been reported so far for my IGMC 2017 entry, and I've finished another solid hour of content.

My goals for this month are actually smaller things I need to step back and look at like replacing default font, default window skins, and working more on parallax mapping. I also need to take some time to write out some late-game skills/weapons/items/enemies. I want to finish my game by the end of January, at least the main campaign. I will take as long as it needs before I am satisfied, but I don't want to be caught in one of these, "I've been developing my first game for 2 years." loops.

My inventory is now displayed as (and can be navigated as) a grid. Took me way too long to figure out how to do the wrap around when moving the cursor but it's very satisfying :kaophew:

Woof, it's going to take me some time to catch up with thread later. So, apologies that my replies will have to come later. I have to figure out what everyone's up to first! I have been making progress, I suppose I'm just more of the silent type!

I've decided to redo some of my piano work. My piano songs seem to be pretty popular, but they were written long before I knew I was going to be making game music. I've had so many requests from people to use them...but they're not written with games in mind so I wanted to rectify this situation. So, not only am I just in general cleaning up with the decade of new experience I have, but I'm making them loop-friendly.

I'm almost done with this one. It just needs the bridge done so it can return to the loop point. I'm having trouble removing noise from it for some reason, though. It's such a faint hiss, but Lord does it bug me. Only, every time I go to remove it, it takes away too much of the natural frequencies of the piano. Well...I'd rather have noise than neuter the piano. So.

After a much needed rest from IGMC, I decided to start a new project, a cyberpunkish stealth game. More of a proof of concept really. Trying out some new systems and plugins, getting the database setup and all that junk. I really wanted to do something small scale in the time fantasy style but lost interest really fast. I will probably flesh out my game jam entry, Cumulus, some more after the judging, I just need a break from that and my main project is also on hold too, I want to try some new mechanics out.

So...progress so far, Armor and weapon database about 80percent complete, items about 30percent, skills about 5percent, story about 1percent, spriting about 60percent (character sprites complete), systems about 80percent, and one map.

@slimmmeiske2 is indeed a saint... a patron saint of RM resources...It's because of you that my hobbies now includes saving and hoarding graphical and musical resources from this Nippon sites nyehehehe

@OnslaughtSupply Ooh a cyberpunkish stealth game...what comes to my mind is some thief/spy getting his/her hands on a top secret device/experiment/knowledge..

@Ms Littlefish The pianoing is superb. I like the emotions that come into me while listening to it..

    Anyway, Here is my update:
    • Possibility of working with someone ( a veteran if I may say so)
    • Created a draft for the first Elder witch conversations in-game( I fight my urge to rewrite, I need to move to another major NPC)
    • Completed the Rough draft of maps
    Microgoals
    • Finish the writing of conversations(draft) for the two remaining Major NPC
    • Rework the maps
Macrogoals( to be done after a playable vanilla RTP demo is made)
    • Find appropriate scripts for the game
    • Revamp the maps or expand( if feasible)
    • Source much better graphical assets

@Ms Littlefish o_O All this time I thought you were a 2D artist. :D Nice piano!

Busked for free today lending my robot to my favorite charity that helps the undeserved pets! ^^ But... Times flies sooooo fast~! I can<t keep up with IRL! Sometimes times is like the elastic of a slingshot and all goes too fast then you don't know why you get in troubles. o_O Woah! @Ms Littlefish your piano inspires my visualization while I type.

Life and not-feeling-well got in the way of both progress and my goal to post at least every other day, but hiccups and all that.
    Yay progress, everyone!

So, my progress since my last post:
    • tried to map a map both for practice and to stuff all the gameplay testing things in there. It's not pretty, but should work for my purposes. Only need to put the events for the testing of things in there
    • prepared a spreadsheet for quest/journal entry needs, because trying to organize things before thinking about them is what I do, apparently. Now I need to find the horse for this cart, I mean, do some thinking on paper what every category of the journal would need in the first place and later insert it for the testing things map
