Inspired by mlogan's October Goals & Progress Thread.

November can be a bit of a tricky month with the leaves falling, graying skies, longer nights and the first snows, and for many of us, the first preparations for the holidays. There's also the infamous NaNoWriMo to contend with, too, but the good news is that can also count toward the progress for the month.

I hope others will join in so that we can encourage each other to make some significant progress through this month. Whether it's a part of your game, a tileset your working on, art, writing, music - let us know what you are up to and how it's going!

Doing the NaNoWriMo thing for November.  I'll be taking an idea from one of my RPGs and making the novel from that.  Since the RPG had barely gotten started, and I'm not using any of the text, I think it'll make an interesting challenge.

I guess I have a fair bit to do in November and it's all going to be pretty exciting.

- Complete and release my commercial game

- Make a start on my next 1-2 project ideas

- Start doing commissions (something I've been considering for quite some time now)

I'll be working on two new projects back and forth.  I still don't know which to commit to first.  I'll be posting progress of both and working to close the first game with the new artwork.

My goal for November is my old October goal...finish up chapter 2 of the game. It is currently implemented in rough draft form, and right now I'm combing over it for typos/plot errors and such, and while doing that learned I needed to re-write a 20 - 30 min chunk of the story to make it flow better. So, my goal is to finish that re-write. I have one set of maps to draw, and all events related to that, so should be doable, provided work doesn't get too busy,

On top of that, my other goal is to finish my Chapter outlines. I have most of Chapters 4 onward done, but now that I know better what can and can't be done in the game engine I need to go back and polish those up, keeping in mind what is practical to implement in RPGMaker.

November will be really exciting for me, as I'm closer and closer to having a playable build ready. It'll only be a small demo, but it's the first major stepping stone to finishing my game.

For now, the plan is:

  • Week 1 - Get to code complete on features - only a few small polish tasks are left, gotta knock all of those out. Also bring known bugs down to 0.
  • Week 2 - Start a full test pass on all features that will be in the demo. Go through every spell, feat, combat ability and status effect, make sure they all work, have correct descriptions and animations, etc.
  • Week 3 - Finish test pass while fixing any bugs found in the process.
  • Week 4 - Start working on adding maps and encounters that will only be in the demo. Come up with some interesting encounters that really show off what the combat system is capable of.
If everything goes according to plan, the demo should be ready by mid December. Fingers crossed!

My plan for November is to start wrapping up my first game thats been in the making for 4 years.  I plan to release it around Christmas time.  So basically I'll be working on one level a week.  I've also started production on my next project.  I'm looking forward to my next one because I'm taking all the stuff I learned and am going to make a very atmospheric, pretty game which will be way easier to finish than my first game, having learned so much.

My goal this month would be to make progress on GSoD, maybe to about half of the planned maps and enemies and other database things

November is a bit rough of a month for me, particularly around the end of the month. I still want to have a try at making some progress for the month!

Here's what I have planned, taking what did and didn't get done in October to account:

Dragon Kingdoms Remake (still working title): I want to at least finish the first town and perhaps a dungeon this month.

Dawn of a New Era comic: I have four storyline paths to complete. I want to get through at least one.

Dragon Kingdoms VI: Probably just a bit of the intro. Don't want to tackle too much in a month like November.

Best bet is Nov. 1 & 2 and 3-9. Worst is Nov. 17-23 & 24-30 (due to Thanksgiving) Maybe no activity whatsoever Nov. 25-26. So-so is Nov. 10-16.

And that should about do it for November for me. Strangely, December is usually better for me. January and up is best, I guess that's life of a retail worker.

Considering the amount of school work, my goals are to finish several of the sprites I started months ago, as well as to have an alpha out for testing.

It's November! I can post here, now, hahaha!

Okay, let's see, I don't have a laundry list of goals this time around, maybe that's better, since I didn't meet my goals last time and instead completely switched directions.

So, for the new game I am working on, my first goal is to finish the scripting I am working on atm. I am trying to work it so that it has user profiles instead of the traditional save files.

ATM, it is working to a degree but not fully. I am learning a lot about scripting through this process though.

I need to at least make a basic farming system for my game this month, but to do that I need to have a time progression system.

Counting yesterday (okay, technically not November, but whatever :p ) I've finished four sprites and tweaked a DS sprite (which I'm sharing in the M+ section ;) ).

Up next: the Infanta based on Venere's portrait (XP), Alice Madness Returns (VXA), Ariel park dress (XP), Maya Fey (DS) and Miles Edgeworth (DS). Oh and I want to try out Sharm's XP/DS mix style :3

Oh, you mean the one that I did the front view of? I'd love to see more of those! I just swapped heads and reduced the color count and modified the hues appropriately.

November 1, 2014: Started today, and done the interior of a base of cinematic scenes I am making. This is where the scenes start. Haven't done character soldiers, but have an idea, and other characters outside haven't been made also, but the characters that interact within the scene are already made, unless I decide to make a new one come heh. The starting scene haven't been made yet also. For tomorrow, if I get the time (by some things, come at about 8 PM from morning), I'll do the soldier characters and maybe do the outside characters or start doing the starting scene. The map is inspired by Pre Made Map CastleiInteriorjF1F, but I did it from scratch. The map size is 37 x 33.

Finished off the last area of Chapter 2 today, now need the wrap up cinematic and I'll meet my old October goal. Hey, one week late isn't too bad, right?

Then its onto this months main goal, which is finish the detailed story write up. I'll also need to polish Chapter 2 up, so will do that when I'm not story writing.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
