G'day I'm starting to use rpg maker and I have npcs that you can converse with but after choosing one of the available choices the conversation ends. I was wondering what i would need to do so this doesn't happen but instead goes back to the previous show choice screen, if there is I would very much like to know.

Thank you for any advice/help.

One way to go about it is labels. Use a label before the choices, name it whatever, and then at the end of the choice use Jump to Label and it'll bring you back to the label you input.

We would need to see screenshots of your event to be able to help you.

If you mean you want it to return to the choices without you having to interact again, then you need to put the whole thing inside a Loop / Repeat Loop block, with some way to exit the loop (one of the choices, probably).

If you mean you interact and it doesn't give you the choices, then you have probably activated another page of the event but shouldn't have.

Edit - yes, labels would work, too, rather than a loop.

This depends on how your event works. If you are using a switch after that choice is selected then just do not use that switch so that the player can activate the event once again. If you want the same choice to appear again in the same dialogue without the player having to activate the event again then you can use a loop.

Since this looks like a pretty basic question to me I would recommend reading Andar's Tutorial for new users. It explains pretty much everything you are supposed to know before starting to create your own game.

Once you read it tinker with the engine a little to have a better understanding of how event commands work, it helps a lot.

EDIT: Shaz was faster than me aparently. :D

Be extremely careful when you use labels. Spaghetti code is lurking! Try using if/else and loops instead of lable/jump to label.

In this particular case you should not be extremely careful yet. It provides simple "go to" function that work. Unless you're making a big system using eventing that has bunch of commands, using label might not efficient, and you might want to resort another method for efficiency (like script). Granted, I never make a big system solely by eventing, but how jump to label actually works is already not efficient. Iirc, Shaz has a script for jump to label, but I can't recall.

Anyway, my point is. For OP, don't be afraid of using label / jump to label if you believe it works and solve your problem. You can always ask if anything goes wrong here.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
