Edit: I just realized that I can probably sneak past those guys during night to enter that certain area (just trying to avoid telling spoilers on this thread.)

Thank you, as for now the fishing is still non-existent since it's still very early demo closer to a proof of concept, it will be totally different from Land of the Fish :D

We are planning to release another demo later, I think it's best to wait for that. :)

It looks like I haven't update this thread for a while :p

Well here is some of the sneak peek on our project progress, we are currently trying to rebuild the battle graphics and replacing the old one with the new graphics with more feel of shadow and shade. Which one do you think is better? the old or the new one?

It is definitely a slight improvement. However in the end I'm more looking forward to have more content to play. :)

Thanks clord, of course we are planning to add more content into the game, story and gameplay-wise. Good graphics only goes so much without solid gameplay to back it up. :D

Well it looks like there is not much update on this thread lately so here's some more of screen shot update!

The first screenshot is highlighting the change in the menu design, mainly we are introducing the new "talk to your party member" button so you can talk and develop relationship with your party members anytime! also an icon showing your hunger status, the new survival system is finally getting implemented, now you need to plan your logistics and take care of your party's stomach before exploring the island! and as always for more explanation, stop by our dev blog sometimes!

the next screenshot is the collection of the new battle background and CG you might find in game:

Played a bit of the demo, already it gives off a great feel of freedom and I like how light hearted it is (at least for now). The art is perfect and that opening song is really catchy :)

it's actually still a buggy mess although at least playable, it is supposedly just a proof of concept rather than a demo too.. :(

Aside from that we are still working hard to finish this game, and to release another demo with the new feature implemented and new graphics :)

It's been a month since there is any worthwhile update posted in this thread.. well the truth is we are now focusing on the story writing first before moving on implementing all the systems and resources. Writing a story and dialogue with lots of character relation is actually very difficult and time consuming.. a fact that we have been overlooked and underestimated at the first time.. every interaction with unique character and interconnected event with them is growing exponentially with every character and event added. Nevertheless, it is being slowly finished and hopefully by the end of this month all things related to the story and dialogue will be finished. So we can move on into the more exciting parts of the development.


We also been experimenting with adding amateur voice acting to the character in game, although it's not a full line, but just a small remarks made by the character when they greet you and their emotional feeling, largely inspired by voice acting in Rune Factory games. Here's some teaser for voice acting experiment in the game if you are curious, featuring Mica our dev blog mascot in her quest in game:

Finally getting around on making a demo video on our custom battle system, this time I'm experimenting on making the battle fully animated, hopefully to make battle more lively, fluid and enjoyable. Check it out here folks :D

And another info, some of you probably noticed that we have taken down the demo download link.. this is because the demo is so obsolete with little to no feature at all and so buggy that we are actually embarassed to put out such a demo. Thanks! I hope you can be patient for the next demo since we are just two man team + 1 composer working in our free time. As for Eelia, despite her size she is actually one of the strongest character in the game even compared to the MC, obviously her questline will be very subtle and the player need special attention to recruit her.

So far the things that bogged us down besides technical implementation and lack of free time is probably the language, there are  lots of dialogue content and we need to check, recheck and proofread just so it doesn't sounds "engrish" and awkward since english is not our native language. I hope everyone can bear with us. :)

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
