Nusakana now available on Steam, release date on 20th November!
What is Nusakana?
Nusakana is an open world RPG about fishing, adventures, and friendship, set on a tropical island. Explore and discover secrets, catch rare and legendary fish, get to know the inhabitants, make new friends and, just maybe, find romance.

Set in a world parallel to the 1950s. The world is just recovering from the great war, and political power from the north are seeking new land rich with natural resources to recover their loss in the war and rebuilding their torn country. Located in the southern hemisphere, Nusakana island is a budding tourist destination, while also rich in mana, a natural resources comparable to oil with magical properties required to summon the elements by the long, extinct magic users called the Elvan. Many people set sight on this island, and soon it is flooded with tourists, researchers, and shady figure alike.

In Nusakana you are playing as a nameless fisherman visiting Nusakana island. The goal is to uncover the island’s secret in 3 years. But 3 years is a long time (1080 days?), there’s so much free time to use for discovering what it offers to you. As a fisherman you can try to catch rare, legendary fishes. Or you can go on adventure around the island, discover its secrets in a subtle main story line we have included. You can choose an easy life of trading and settle down with the locals, then marry one of the village beauties after the island’s secret is uncovered, of course. You can even forget your goal and experience how bad the bad ending is. Everything is up to you, the player, how do you want the game to progress and end.

Features:

  • Dynamic World and Time Progression - People and wild beasts all over the island will react differently based on the time and weather.
  • Simple yet Deep Turn Based Battle System - Inspired by classic JRPG turn-based battles, mix and match your party according to the enemies you face!
  • Relationship and Dating Sim - Interact with 19 recruitable party members and date with them to learn their secrets and unlock their potential!
  • Fishing - Fishing in Nusakana is not just a minigame, it's one of the core gameplay mechanics! Experience semi-realistic fishing, and learn the environment and fish characteristics to increase your success in catching a giant, legendary fish!
  • Explore and Survive - The island, though beautiful, holds many enticing secrets with the promise of riches, but beware of the dangers they hold! Plan your adventure with the proper logistics, for hunger and insomnia can ruin your adventure before it even begins.
  • Gather and Craft - Rich in natural resources and exotic vegetation, it is said you can craft anything with what you find in Nusakana. Gather raw resources and craft items to help you on your adventure.
  • Trade and Mercantile - Get rich by selling Nusakana's commodities and handicrafts to the traveling merchant who comes from overseas.
  • Tropical themed soundtrack - Traverse Nusakana with beautiful multi-cultural Jazz and Bossa Nova inspired soundtrack to accompany you!

Definitely looks worthy to pay money for. Better than some of the other (shudder) RPG Maker stuff on Steam. Upvoted.

Believe it or not, Alfi and Zazon, our programmer, have it to where the shadows change depending on the time of day!

Indeed, it's good to see some fresh life on Steam cause that place is like a overfilled graveyard these days. Interested!

Haha sure! I was immediately struck with severe headache looking at paperworks and stuff that need to be done, especially since we are not expecting to be greenlit so soon and was really unprepared for that. Here's hoping all goes well!

Ok the Grafic looks nice and fresh in comparsion to standard rtp.

But i watched the whole Trailer and you didnt catch my Excitement.

Where is the Purpose? Where is the Adventure and Excitement that sucks me into that Island?

Which Mysteries could lie ahead? And than i think, oh nay nice Grafic but a starter RPG Maker Gameplay without shown any

Gameplay features besides the Sims that could make Fun.

Cant Vote for you right now, but maybe in the Future.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
