One of the playtesters was wondering where was the mother sleeping
It's funny that no one bothers in not having a bathroom hahaha

Well, I managed to fix all my plugins (as far as I can tell).

So... looks like I've gone far beyond my expectations(it was just the roguelike system).

Also, I guess I'm done for this month :D

Maybe I come out with something this weekend, but I'll probably take a break.

Thanks for the support guys, it was really nice to take part on this topic.

Just learned about the Learning Together game jam yesterday. I dunno. I kinda wanna do it, cause there's a free resource pack and all. But there's so much real life work now. Ugh... Should I do it? Maybe I should set a clock and see if I can put something together in 4-5 hours. Like make a 20 min game. Hmm...

Well, let's see how I did this month. The goals were:

-Finish bug testing and tweaking the demo, so the final demo version can go live. This requires me to finish up the lighting, any secret rooms I need, and I have to rebalance EXP drops by monsters. Also the final dungeon needs a redraw. And Elmwood needs NPC's. And...

-I have most of the NPC's made up for one of the Chapter 4 towns, so make that town final.

-Finish implementing Icetop Fortress and Dragonblast. Those are little towns the party can visit if they wish with a couple quests. I have them fully mapped, they just need NPC's.

-Implement the character scenes for Chapters 2 and 3. I got Chapter 2's done last month, just need to do Chapter 3 now.

How did I do?

-Bug testing and tweaking the demo. This had fair progress, as I did get the enemies rebalanced, the final dungeon redrawn, and all secret rooms implemented for Chapter 1. Still need the NPC's though, right now the towns are ghost towns still.

-Make the Chapter 4 town final. 0 progress

-Implement Icetop Fortress and Dragonblast: 0 Progress

-Implement the character scenes: 0 progress.

Overall I didn't do so hot in game dev in October. Seems that book took up all the free time I had and then some. Though, on the plus side, the book is done except for a proofreading run (which I will do after sitting on it for a week or two), so game dev can hopefully take off back at full pace in November!

I fell short of my goals too.  I have some story ideas still developed, but the plot still needs to be fleshed out and some key details clarified..

While I didn't have any goals set in stone for this month, I managed to finish quite a few things which I had been talking about earlier:

  • I finished all the dialogue the demo needs for the initial test, though it mostly meant coming up with the few final branches of a scene.
  • I redid the introduction to be about as good as it can get for now, with an option to skip it and pictures instead of scrolling text.
  • I tried out DreamX's instant turn battle plugin and liked it, but I'll stick with the default battle until a bug gets fixed in the ITB plugin.

In addition, I made a window skin, changed the font and honed both some mechanics and dialogue. All in all, October was a relatively productive month for me, or at least it felt so: though it still completely relies on placeholder graphics, I now have a sort of initial demo version and even had one friend quickly test it already. It's nice to finally have a proper demo done after years of playing around with different RPG Makers.

DC is ALIVE!!!  err...

apart that I mapped by mouse, scales to side neck and legs (minus one) to new dragon...

annnd... Spooked who wanted to be spooked, not spook who didn't want to be spooked and made smile those unable to get spooked in that haunted house as a beaten down anthro Egyptian stylish cat ghost complete with facial veil mask, sub mask, false teeth, light and make-up...And of-course I can do purr, meow and do pretty good at cat wailing!

Now I also can fill the $Eg's piñata pesky legs full of candies!

That's kinda my month in a nutshel.

Final Progress Report (for October)

-Pretty much rebuilt the engine. As in, I made a new project, inserted the scripts I was using and reapplied the adjustments I did on the stock scripts.

-Bug fixes.

Are we allowed to post about non-RPG Maker games?
I should realize that error was produced by a outdated version of MZ so that's why it pop up like that
