So when having the Layer set to "Automatic", using autotiles with transparent corners -- in the below example the cliff tiles -- causes them to exclude the ground layer. In the editor, the color will be the color set in Tools > Options... > Transparent Color, or the Parallax Background.

From left to right, these cliffs were drawn on layers "Automatic", "Layer 1", etc.

Is this how it's supposed to work? It doesn't seem like it based on the manual.

If the automatic layering in MZ is the same as MV, then yes, those autotiles are drawn on the lowest layer. In the preview videos, those tiles were drawn with manual layering, on layer 2, which allows the ground tiles on layer 1 to be seen. This is also what you had to do with previous makers when drawing with tiles containing transparency (in XP you put them on layer 2, in Ace and MV, you put them on the B tilesheet)

Oh yes, it does actually make sense. And that's probably why the cliff autotiles in MV were "square" and not rounded at the top edges with no transparencies, to avoid this "issue" -- which isn't really an issue, but more of something new to get used to :)

Yeah you need to map with those with manual layers.

Yeah, for the nice rounded corners, it's worth it.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
