Oddly specific plug in request(please help)

I'm using rpg maker mv:

So I'm making a mystery game and I want the player to be able to think at anytime. They would access it through the menu travel into a separate area and then the clues that they have will give them access too conclusions.
And when they are done they can return to wherever they were on the map and carry on. Is there a way I can do this through events, or some in game way to remember the players location every time before they jump into the thinking state?

There are plugins that exist that will allow you to run common events from the menu - I'm sure Yanfly has one. You'll just need to build a common event to handle the transfers. Something like this should do it:

This is no different to "my player has a tent and when they use it from the items menu I want them to go to a new map to rest and interact, and then go back to the place they were before".

Just attach your menu/item/skill/whatever it is to a common event. Have the common event use Control Variables to obtain the current map, player's Map X and Map Y values into 3 variables. Then transfer to the "thinking" map. When done, use Transfer with those variables to go back to where they were.

You don't need a plugin to do this, unless you actually want a menu option for Think and don't have one already. The rest of the mechanic would not be done by that plugin though.

thanks for replying but I can't use that because I have a notebook plug in and every time i try to use the yanfly menu editor it deletes that off the menu but I made it into a skill and used that through the menu <3

@Ely you don't need any plugin for this.

Above Shaz has already described how to do this with events alone - in fact this is better be done by events because using plugins would only complicate the matter without need.
