Hello all, if you check my account's post history you will see I inquired about a question regarding a project for a game development program I was taking while in university. I have since graduated (and received perfect marks on the project) and wanted to revisit the work I had previously done. I managed to locate a copy of the executable folder in a Google Drive, however after zipping the file and extracting everything, I cannot seem to get the program to open. I also tried opening the index, however it returns the text "Error Failed to load: data/Actors.json".

I have seen some people say this is due to the built-in security features of modern browsers, however some others have said that it is simply due to the file being corrupted. I unfortunately do not have the old development files anymore, so is there any way to repair the files so that the game can be played once again? I will post the shared drive link here for people to download, however if that is against the rules please let me know.

Thank you for all the help!

Hi there!
I tested your project here, and everything is working. I managed to open the Game.exe and also import the files to the RPG Maker editor.

If you want to import the files to work on your project through the editor again, do the following:

- Create a new RPG Maker project
- Delete everything in that folder, except for the game.rpgproject
- Go to the game folder you want to work on and open the "www" folder.
- Copy everything inside the www folder and paste it on the new RPG Maker project you created.

Have fun :)

the error could also have happened if you tried to run or open the game while it is inside the zipped archive, without extracting it first.
given that it worked for the poster above that is the most likely case for you.

This could probably be an entire thread, but it’s really interesting how replaying a game several years later can change how you relate to a character. I think Tidus from FFX got such a bad rap. I getchu. Completely different reaction as an adult now.
As you see, I still enjoy writing tutorials. Is there anything specific you want to see? (I know mapping and editing/resource making is usually popular, but those are very broad topics)
Well, I wanted to expand player battlers visually and now have 3 sheets and counting for each of my players party.
1. Regular sheet
2. The character has turned stone sheet.
3. Using potions sheet.

Technically the main hero has 4 since he starts with a wooden sword, and I felt that the battler should reflect that until he gets a metal one.

Right back to the RM game dev grind in about 15 minutes. :LZSexcite:
Days ago I gave someone the sage advice not to steer away from your main project or take up another one to abandon the first. After figuring a way that would save me years of development, I am forced to redo a lot of stuff on my own turf, near to remake half of what I have already made.
Somewhere down the line I must have crossed paths with bad karma.
