On/Off switches for states

What do you think of states that give you control over when you wish to turn them off? At the cost of MP?

I'm thinking of playing with this to get around the turn count restriction.

Like, I have a special HP regen spell I'm thinking about making what I call a switch state. You can decide when to turn it on and off.

To turn on simply cast the skill. To turn it off, cast it again.

For 3% mp a turn you get to heal 9% HP.

Basically you would let player to choose how much they want to amplify their spells. It is a cool idea definitely.

How would they specify? Would it be a menu option that applies to everyone, or when they GET the state, they use a turn at an MP cost to remove it whenever they want?

Oh, haha no no, to turn off the skill you just cast it again. They are being made as common events. So If Skill is applied then: Remove.

So I have to specify for each character but it isn't a biggie at all. Only a handful of states for this.

You can actually do this with a formula box that reads

(b.state_id == State#) ? b.remove_state (State#) : b.add_state (State#) :)
Then you only need one skill for all actors

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
