Hi there!
I'm relatively new to game creation and programming and I'm slowly learning the ropes of RMMV.
In some of the games I have played which were made with the same engine (especially those which have a similar gameplay style to the "Ace Attorney" game series) have an on-screen Health/"Credibility" bar during verbal altercations or arguments both during normal gameplay and in battle events.
In one of these altercations, you the player are given two or more statements/responses to choose from and you must select one based on info you have collected previously or on in-universe common sense. Failure to select the correct response decreases your "credibility" and loss of all 'credibility' results in game over.

Is there a script or plugin available which does this? Or will something like this require a bit more programming expertise?

Does your game also have combat? Do you need Hit Points, or can you just change it to Credibility?

Yes it has combat but the 'verbal altercation' encounters are separate from the combat encounters in that they progress they progress the story and they would be one great big battle event full of text and response selections while combat is as normal.
In short, verbal battles have credibility, combat battles have HP, TP, MP etc.
I hope that makes sense...

SRD_HUDMaker can make huds on Map, and on Battle,
it's endless possibilities which also require basic js knowledge
in order to impliment.

how you use it or set it up is up to you, for HP, MP, TP, Engery,
Cedibility, gold, status, weakness etc.

some even built inventory out of it (require variables and switches), but
whatever need to be done is up to you :)

added a Panic gauge to battle. it fills up according to your actions. each character has a different passive that activates once the gauge is full. also once full, a countdown starts and after each action taken, the gauges decreases. with each character, the decrease is different.

Prototyping some overworld abilities. Some of the characters you'll meet on your journey can use special overworld skills to travel around. This can be something like digging holes in the ground or getting hints towards your next objective.
