I have an idea for this challenge but there is one question I need to get out of the way. I know tileset switching is generally shunned, but in my instance only a small area of the room would change and the rest of it would stay the same. Is it still advised I don't switch tilesets at all, or is this just minor enough that I can get away with it?

I think it's fine,
If you feel bad about it maybe combining tilesets with a photo editor?

I think that is fine. As long as you aren't tileset switching to create entirely new maps.

When I first saw posts on this, I fell into the believing this was a one time competition event that I had missed people category. I now find it is an ongoing event and I want to participate.

Also: The RPG Maker forum is my nemesis to completing games!

May resolution - I will make a one map game.

Hey @Touchfuzzy , I wanted to ask some clarifying questions.

I have an idea to make a small rogue-lite for this challenge. I have found a plugin that can assemble multiple small maps into one big one. My idea is to use this to procedurally generate the map, so the player has a different map each playthrough (but only ever one map in a single playthrough).
While this clearly goes against the letter of the rules (since the game data would contain multiple maps), I feel it is in line with the spirit of the rules. So I wanted to ask if such a game would still qualify to get the badge.

The other question is purely out of interest, since I don't plan on using this trick:
You could have an arbitrary amount of 'switches' and still be within the letter of the rules, by giving the player hidden items named 'switch X' and instead of checking 'if switch X is ON ...', checking 'if party has switch X item'.
I feel this very much goes against the spirit of the rules, but I am curious about your take.

I made sure to read through the thread to see if these questions are already answered but I couldn't find one. I apologize if I have missed them.

I think using a plugin to effectively create "more" maps would go against the spirit of the rules.

Maybe I will make a 'simplified' game without the procedurally generated map for the badge and a 'enhanced' version with them.

I already had it in my head to make a game over the course of June, and I think this challenge would be PERFECT for it. Thanks for putting this together!

I'm working on one of these now! Honestly, I might submit more than one of these whenever I'm getting burned out on making my main game! It's a good way to mix things up a bit and possibly even come up with some new ideas!

Edit: Ooh! Would ABS enemies (as long as they are strictly mob and loot) count as events?

I might wanna try doing this at some point, so I have a question. It says you can only have 10 Switches, but does that count Self Switches, or can you have as many of those as you want?

Rendering the intro for the 4 time today, everytime it finished I noticed something that I found off and had to fix it and render it all over again...

It's the little things. Lengthened the time the bar fades in and out to be a bit more comfortable.
