I feel like I'm overscoping as well here, the game is desperately crying to be bigger, but I think I will manage eventually and keep it within the restrictions. I know I can. I did it in the past with other challenges.
If there's enough interest in the story, I will expand it, like many others did with their entries.

This challenge is actually a very good idea, because it encourages you to finish something which you can use as a base for a full game.

You can always make the One Map Challenge version then if you like it you can make a full version. Sometimes your opinions can change between the start and end of development.
