As the title suggest this one should be obvious:
I'd like to work on a game with RPG Maker VX Ace, which takes place in the One Piece universe. It would follow the story that is found in the manga already. However, I would like to include "What if?" scenarios. Of course this will be a free non-profit project as we are using an IP that is not ours. It's just a project of love for the series
If that doesn't sound intriguing enough (Because I haven't actually found a project like this which succeeded at all or even came close to completion) we could develop our own story in the One Piece universe. It would be quite a lot more advanced, but it would mean that we could make our own story that took place after Luffy became the Pirate King. There is a great theory on what One Piece is out there and we could easily build something unique on that!
Now, what would we need?
Ruby Scripter
This one should be a no-brainer but we need an SBS because of animated combat. What I would like to see is a system in which the spell Animations can be used as fighting animations. See this video for what I mean in terms of animations. I have yet to find a system in which this is the case. It's always sprite sheets or similar but that wouldn't work for animations like those shown above as the sprites are not equally big like they would be on a 32x32 sprite. The animation is not mine. It's from a DS game taken over from one of the spritesheet databases. If that is not possible, then we would have to work out a system in which we can turn those into evenly big sprites and put in a sprite sheet.
Sprite Artist/Graphic Artist
We need a sprite artist for a few reasons:
What can I offer?
What I can offer is my level of detail as I am a huge fan, I can offer ideas (as the entire team can) and of course, I can make out Levels, Events, Work in the tool Animation (as you can see in this video), Find Resources such as music, sound, portraits etc.
What else could we use?
If you are a Composer you can chip in. Do you have your own original compositions of the known themes from One Piece you'd like to put in there? You are more than welcome to join! The more the Merry'ier (see what I did there?
)
If you are a Sound Engineer you can chip in. Do you have a flair for making Sound Effects? Please join us on this quest to make a masterpiece. Sound can really help sell that awesome punch or help set the mood with the music on that dusty scene with the wind. It would be much appreciated to have you on-board.
I am interested, so how would this pan out?
We would start by making the game in episodes. The first pilot episode would determine whether this project lives or dies. The first episode would be from when Luffy first sets sail to the rescue of Zorro. Then we take it from there.
Alright, you convinced me. How do we get in Contact?
You can simply message me on this board and we will most likely just communicate over Skype.

Sprite Artist/Graphic Artist
We need a sprite artist for a few reasons:
- The overworld sprites (those you use to walk around in the game) don't currently exist. They would need their own spritesheets to work and I am sadly no artist. With time I probably could make a bit but it would like crap
- The animations shown in this video would have to be matched with the characters where no sheets already exist.
