Only one character following the player?

Hi there! There's this feature that the whole party would follow the player around, but I want to make a pet, that will not battle, following the player. Is there a way of doing this? Thanks in advance! Luv ya
I thought about making the pet an actor, but I don't want it inside the battle.

probably your best bet would be to make an event on every map that, upon entering the map, immediately teleports to be behind the player, then is set to follow the player.

Does the game you're making have a party system/needs everyone in the party?

How are you managing to do this, if you don't mind sharing? I have that plug-in, but haven't used it a whole bunch yet, so I'm very curious, if you're willing to share! =]
