Hey guise this might be a nooby question but I need some help @___@

When I select "$Large Monster" or whatever from the event graphic list, it only shows like one square of the monster.

And the same thing with my character images. It only gives me the option to choose the little 32x32 square when I have the whole shoulders and head of my character.. Any help? TT___TT

Thanks in advance!

It will still display the whole monster image, but the event itself will only occupy one tile. So if the monster relies on events on all parts of his body (such as being able to interact with it from the foot or head, etc), then you'd have to make one event the monster graphic, and then the other events without a graphic... or at least that's what I believe you would need to do.

As far as I know, in the editor it shows just one tile, in game it shows the full character, so don't worry!

RPG Maker VX Ace does not allow those kind of oversized portraits by default—you are limited to the size restrictions of the faceset files. If you want to use large faces like in the image you posted, you need to find a script or work out a way to use pictures.

Making sure you have your image in the image folder, import using the resource manager

then just set the picture to the appropriate X Y coordinates on the screen and choose the picture

With the above, I make an event like this

and create this

As for how to make it go over the text box? Can't say for sure. You'd need to edit the Z Value of the text box, but unless you wanted to make the text box be behind EVERY picture you put in, you'll probably need a script. With that sense, there was one made for VX here:

http://www.rpgmakervx.net/index.php?s=&showtopic=28457&view=findpost&p=259709

But you may be able to find someone nice enough to convert that script to Ace for you.

You could always resize the picture in an editing program too, if you want to use those pictures but limited by the size!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
