Open Two RMXP projects on STEAM??

Hello all!! forgive me for I am quite new to this, but I've been googling on how to do this, but to no luck, most infos were outdated or doesn't work anymore. x(


How do you open two RMXP projects on steam? because for some reason, I cannot open two projects, I needed to open it in order for me to copy the Scripts from the script demos I got for RMXP, also for other uses! x(


any help is very much appreciated

Just go to the programmfolder of RPG Maker XP and launch the EXE from there instead of using the Steamlink. It's somewhere in your Steamlib folder (Steamlib folder > steamapps > common > RPG Maker XP).


You can find that location in your Steamapp:


Just right click on your RPG Maker XP entry > Properties, select the LOCAL FILES tab, click BROWSE LOCAL FILES...

Okay, I've found it from the steamapps folder, but unfortunately by clicking the .EXE from there, it still forces me to open steam in order to open RMXP. x(( I don't know x((

Of course it will launch Steam but you can double click it a second time and you will get a second instance of RMXP.

Umm yeah, I've tried clicking it again and again, still, steam lunches the very same one instance of it. x(( it goes like "Preparing to launch RPG maker XP" then just resets the last one. x(( hmm..


What version of RMXP in steam are you using?

Sorry for confusing you. You are right, unfortunately after installing the Steam Version on my computer as well, I can only confirm what you claimed, therefor sorry for talking BS here ... I was pretty sure that I was using the steam version, but probably because of the same reason, I was not!

I dunno if this will work for you, but I managed to do this with the Steam version of ACE by installing shortcuts to the project file on  my desktop, then opening them directly. However, I also had to move the projects out of the default directory where the program tries to install them before this worked, otherwise it was trying to synch them with the cloud.

@felsenstern - Aww, so I guess it's still the same x(( it's fine and thanks!! though I wonder why it's like this x(( makes it hard for me to copy and import scripts...


@bgillisp - I did what you said, and unfortunately, still the same ( I made a shortcut and moved my project folder elsewhere, to no avail, steam insists. x((
