It should have worked too. Everything seems to indicate that the problem is related to permissions. What is the path of your RPG Maker?

i got it to work.  i gues i had to find the folder itself and give full permission for everything.  i was just going with the settings i had when i installed the game.  i didnt know i had to change things around like that.  but either way its working now lol, thanks for walking me though the steps

    Ah, nice :)

Either way I'll add a new param to let you choose a folder to save it on.

This works really well! Just exported a pretty large map and it was near-instant. Great job mate! :D

Hi there! I'm glad I found this topic, I had the same permissions problems, but now it works well! For my use, I have a selfish favor to ask of you guys, would it be possible to take a screenshot of the map + events displayed?

If you have no time to make something like this, don't bother! If you can at least tell me whether you think it's possible would already be awesome!

    Thanks for the plugin anyway!

My project folder is on a dropbox folder, and not the typical folder you find in your documents. Where exactly am I looking to find the screenshot?

Yeah, I thought someone would ask me to include events at some point. I'll add this feature when I get some more time (next week or so).

If you're running the game from inside RPG Maker, then the Mapshots will be saved inside the Rpg Maker folder. Find RM folder and then check for a folder called nwjs-win inside it. That's where all your data is copied to when you playtest.
    Some examples of possible locations:

    C:\Program Files\Kadokawa\RPG Maker MV\nwjs-win\Mapshots

    C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\common\RPG Maker MV\nwjs-win\Mapshots

ahhh okay thanks! I thought at first you meant it was inside your project folder, but i realized you meant the software folder in steam.  I'd also like to point out to others that if you install your steam software on a hardrive not on your c-drive, you can check there. I forgot I have steam on my z:drive to save space on the c. thanks! I look forward to using this!

*edit* Yeah it had nothing to do with where my project folder was, it was where steam itself was lmao sorry.

So good! You're already anticipating all other makers' needs! I hope you can make this feature part of a next release, I'll be waiting for that! Thanks Hudell!

This comes up on the developer tools now when I try using it. It worked fine yesterday D:

I'm not sure what it means. It says no such directory, but thats where the map/screenshot folder is at. Im confused as to why it thinks the folder is somewhere else now.

EDIT: I figured it out accidently. You cant have certain symbols when you name your map in the editor! I had **** in my map and it didn't work well with the plugin *facepalm*

so don't name your maps with weird symbols!!!

    Ah, lol.

Yeah, asterisk is not a valid filename :)

There's a param you can change to make the files use the map number instead of the map name. In that case, you can name your maps whatever you want.

Hudell, can you have an option where it doesn't include autoshadows? :D

Please, also an option to mapshot ignoring the "ground layer" (I don't know how it's called, layer 0? layer 1?) so we can use that image for make shadows of the trees, bridges, etc more faster :)

Oh, don't forget that the background should be transparent.

    Thank you in advance.

It already does that...where it separates upper layer and ground tiles.

The lower layer is everything that is displayed under the player and the upper layer is everything that is displayed over the player. Not exactly the same thing.

I've added the option to hide the shadows, will add the layer one now..
