So i want to start building my world but also want to make a cool intro cutscene. Am i able to do that later?

And let's say i make map A B and C. Later on i make map F. On the left where it shows what map you're on, can you switch their order so if i wanted to link map A to F, i could make the order A F B C?

Just trying to figure out if there's a certain order things have to be done i don't want to start building my game and find out later i should have done something sooner.

Yes.

Events (Transfers, specifically) link maps - they are not linked by the order on the left side. The left side is just for sorting them visually. So yes.

There is no specific order in which to do things in RM!

Yes. In fact, I started my game by having no intro until I had my first 20 - 30 minutes of playtime implemented (reason being I didn't want to rewatch my intro while bug testing the start of the game). You can very easily add the intro later by just having your first map run an autorun event that goes off when the intro is over (assuming the intro takes place on that map), or by just changing the starting position to the map with the intro.

How maps are "linked" in the game has nothing to do with the order in which they appear in the map panel.


Yes, you can move them around, and it doesn't affect the way the game is played at all. You can just drag and drop them where you want them to be in the hierarchy, knowing that any sub-maps will be moved also.


Be VERY careful if you ever delete maps - if there are sub-maps under it, they will all be deleted as well.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
