A kidnapped monster in a foreign country caught in a secret war between seven of the most powerful mages alive.
~~Hey. Want to know something cool?
There's a demo download below
I wanted to put this up top and obvious, to be safe. This game includes some of the following content, none of which are considered 'R' but may be sensitive topics to some individuals:
- Video game fantasy violence
- Suggestive content (implied text, no graphics)
- Alcohol use
- There's 1-2 counts of mild language in the whole game. Emphasis on mild; it's a word with an actual English meaning beyond the curse, but I wanted to mention it.

For over 500 years the country of Lenma has known relative peace as a result of the truce with their Origin Mages.
Masters of their elements, Origin Mages are responsible for keeping their monsters away from human populations. In this, the country maintains stability.
But no system is perfect. Now the repercussions of a tragic event years ago are here as one individual begins a final and bloody quest for justice.
Origin Hunt is a story-rich game where choices made have lasting impact. The plot is driven forward by realistic and relatable characters, all with their own unique personalities and voices. Turn-based combat provides challenge with a multitude of custom player and enemy skills, complete with action sequences! Utilize an element system or manipulate enemy passives to strategize victory.

Everything listed is included in the demo!
In a self-ranked list of 'good' to 'most exciting!'
Craft equipment to get that one perfect trait for the job.
- Turn-based combat with animated enemies and lively action sequences! The battle screen is never still, from party members using unique skills to enemies crushing said party members with AI designed to create a dynamic challenge.
- A crafting system - that doesn't require hours of resource collecting! You can battle for items, gather them in the world, or just buy them from a local merchant.
- Skill learn system: learn what skills and passives you want when you want them. You can then upgrade those skills to more powerful versions - and then into branching versions, so pick which bonus you want for that skill carefully!
- Achievements, for the completionist inside all of us.
- Day/Night Cycle with in-game effects! From skill bonuses to events to the poor guy wearing sunglasses at night.
- Choices that matter. Choose how to act to your team, and to the general populations. How you interact with others can change how they act towards you!
- Gear customization. Can't get enough of ridiculous, complex, over-the-top equipment names?
Craft equipment to get that one perfect trait for the job.
- Character Combat Customization: No character is locked into a role. Build your team how you want. Want your healer to become a damage-dealer? Great! Need more magical offense power? Why not take your physical character and turn them into a mage? All of this without classes; strategic use of skills and equipment give team-building freedom.

Separated into their own spoilers.

Previous version save files are - to my knowledge - compatible. Simply copy the contents of the 'save' folder from the old version to the new version. If there is any issue with loading older save files, I can provide save files at roughly the same point in the game.
System Changes
System Changes
- Animation Optimization. Anyone who experienced lag upon a battle animation playing for the first time in that battle should now have significantly less to no lag!
- Drastically reduced enemy respawn timers – farm away! Enemies still remain frozen and passable after fleeing battle for the same amount of time
- Preloaded battle HUD items – hopefully no more issues with numbers not showing, or gauges being out of place
- Added save reminders at the beginning. Once the whole team is made, these become fewer and farther between
- Added some mini side quests from various NPC
- Fixed some tile passable errors – such as being able to walk up a cliff ledge by stepping on a flower/grass tile at the cliff’s edge
- Minor text changes
- Fixed some typos and grammar issues
- Improved skill description of ‘Hype Up’ so it’s clear the bonus turn does not apply to allies who already acted
- Expanded food item text descriptions – their heal and buff/debuff effects are now listed
- Colour-coded more item text descriptions
- Mara now starts with slightly better armour, and her starting weapon has been buffed slightly
- Nerfed Baby Ice Ifrit battle – enemies now have a lower level, lower health, and lower defenses
- Skill Buffs: Steal/Mug/Rush skill line: Now ignores defense, and upgrades to have Confuse chances added
- Totally revamped title screen! Ooh, animated!
~~Umm, it's a very long list. I would feel really bad putting the whole thing here to be honest, simply because of how long the changelog for this version is!
From now on, I'll be putting the changelogs on my Itch.io page, and linking them here, so if you want to see the complete changes, they are available. If you look at the list, you'll see what I mean about it being very long.~~
Changelog Ver 1.2 - Good-Bye Chibi Battlers!
