RMMZ Our new in-game sprite has a drawn look. Must we change the maps to match the character?

Hi Everyone,
We've evolved our in-game sprite look since our alpha game was released: https://fifeferisland.itch.io/fifefer-island-alpha1
My question: Do you think since we've changed direction to the drawn full-body look (the last picture), do we need to add drawn parallaxing to the in-game maps to match the look? Or do you think it would be fine to keep the RPG maker look with the drawn character? Thanks!

Considered this one:

And have landed on this drawn full-body look:

At first glance I think the final sprite would look odd alongside standard MZ chipsets, but some screenshots of it ingame alongside your current tiles would be helpful. Can you provide some?

Definitely a cool looking sprite regardless.

I finally decide, after several ppl asking me to, to create a gamethread about project M... And my internet craps out on me halfway through the process :(
making my first game is like trying to stuff all my experience with old games into one
so its slow and painful when i dont get it right... i bet the next game is gonna be finished earlier!

Finally, I got a good Gmail message [from smg5urded]
"This game does look a bit plain, but, I'm sure this does not destroy the experience as a whole. Monsters fit your style of game-play, mapping looks crude but I'm sure you can make it better if you do a remake of Forgotten Eclipse"
