I just tried your demo, but couldn't get far (more on that at the end of the spoiler tag).

I've spotted several (all?) occurences of "don't" or "doesn't" written without the apostrophe.

The same with "can't".

The exterior of the house is really dark.

On my monitor it's almost all black with faint traces of white horizontal streaks.

This is *my* house? Creepy!

I don't know if this is normal but there are books on the wall that have a light halo around them.

Weren't they intended to be torches?

Two clocks on the wall is one too many.

When saving, having those quotes is a nice idea, but the right side of the text is often darkened by a vertical bar.

If you could move the text slightly to the left it would be readable more easily.

Morning:

I can see better the house.

So I guess the "night" tint had no effect on the rest of the map (ground/trees are lighted the same).

Why are the poles lighted with a flame since it's morning?

Pathways:

A lot of passability issues on this parallaxed map.

I can walk over the top of the trees and over the bushes.

I am blocked too far from some trees. It feels like having a force field for no reason.

Building, entrance:

I can walk over the table on the right (but left is OK).

The top of the plant next to the girl is missing.

I've got a strange display glitch. If it happens on other computers as well, here is how I got it:

-Go to the far left, just under the staircase. When you move up and down, there is a white line appearing under the plants on the left and some events are shifted 1 pixel up (or down).

So far, nothing is interactive on the maps...

I'm not asking for a fully interactive set, but at least some of them could give a description or a comment by Kanna.

It feels lifeless.

The faces used by the NPCs and Kanna do not match in their art styles.

Building, nurse:

During the dialogue, some of Kanna's portraits are not aligned like the others and show a little yellow spot on the top-right.

Oups, got a game breaking bug when talking to the nurse from the right side. Kanna wants to leave and walks down, but is blocked by the wall. Game stalled.

And since I cannot save anywhere, had to redo some unnecessary walking.

Ok, got back to speaking to the nurse from the intended spot under her. If I go back, she says the same thing.

After speaking to the nurse, you prevented taking the long way from the north to go back to the stairs. I understand it's for the upcoming cutscene but it feels strange to have a force field for no reason (at least, not known yet).

After the cutscene:

All the doors become locked? Even the restroom?

I can no longer speak to the receptionist.

Another game breaker:

I went to the town on the left but couldn't go back to my home. No transfer occurred.

Back home:

I can't walk on the tile just under the chandelier. I don't remember if it happened the first time, probably if it's an event on "same as player".

I can walk over my bed (which is an emperor size!)

Hmm, I'm home but I can't interact with anything.

No cutscene starting either...

Am I missing something or did I break something?

Sorry, I can't go any further as is.

OK, I've found the store.
Since going to town didn't allow me to go back home, I assumed I wasn't supposed to go there and it was a bug.
By the way, the Tint screen when you enter the store is brighter than when outside, OK.
But it's not reverted when I go outside. Almost like I entered at dusk and returned at dawn ;)

I continue my journey.

Edit:
Finished the demo, but not without help.

In the "grey world", after the cutscene with Kanna.
I get to play another character who can walk over anything on the map, including trees...

Red key world:
After I opened the locked door following the password puzzle, if I walk up I can walk over the cabinets in the next room.

Puzzle with the chairs:
I didn't even recognize they were chairs at first...
And the monsters. Having their movements set at Random is not a so good idea. You have to wait and wait and wait for them to move when you can't sneak through a small corridor. With patterns that doesn't happen and the player can even feel intelligent ;)

And the puzzle itself.
If I hadn't read the past comments I wouldn't even know about the locker to put the code into.
Actually, I can't see a locker at all. It's just a black rectangle like all the walls.
There was no way I could have found it without the "hint" of a locker near the exit. The map is way too dark or the locker lacks details.
Here is what I see:

Am I having a wrong version of the demo? It's just a black rectangle, really.
And the number to find?
I got it only because you gave it. I don't know what to do with the numbers I have in the corners.
I have 84 8 546 538
There must be a logic, but there are no clues. What are we supposed to do with those numbers?
*You* know what to do, the player doesn't. Either I'm dumb (which is a possibility :D ) or your puzzle is impossible to solve without more clues.
I'd like to know how you get to that number, really.

It might be a mathematical error on my behalf, since I didnt think this would particularly mess up. I will have to change the puzzle and it will be different in the full release.

Anyone who has played/beaten Kairo should probably give it a review, short or long, even one word lol, just to know how I've done with this demo/beta ;p

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
