RPG Maker Forums

Hello, everyone.

I've noticed this issue has been brought up a few times before, however, I have yet to find a fix for my specific issue.

I'm currently using Yami's Overlay mapping script, and I recently discovered that changing the screen tint effects the overlay images differently from the in-built

map ...  ... thing... PICS, HELP ME!

I'm bent on implementing a day/night system but, as you can see from comparing the two pics (both of which have screen tints), that the overlay image (The bottom corner of the cliff tiles as well as the grass on top of the grass) is effected differently. Hanzo Kimura (HK) has developed a script for VX which has overcome this problem, but I am yet to find one for VX Ace :(

Is the only way to overcome this problem by creating morning, day, afternoon and night variants for each map?

Has anyone found a fix for the script I'm using?

Does anyone know of a different script for overlay mapping that overcomes this problem?

Seriously, any help is deeply appreciated!

Yami's script (the one I'm using):

HK's Script (one that claims to have overcome this problem in VX):

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
