So as far as I know this would be only doable through events but im sure theres a plugin for it somewhere... right?

So this ones pretty simple i think i want the player to be able to do specific things in the overworld through the use of a button! this button would be pressed and then it would bring up a menu (Its fine if your plugin just has this option through the regular menu) and then you can pick a specific "Action" that would play with a corresponding button like whip out a sword and slash a bush or just slash lower leveld enemys when there in your way or a jump action that lets you jump on specific platforms or a button that allowes you to throw out a lasso and hook onto objects and "Pull" them
I have no idea if this is a thing already and what its called but anything that copys this (and dosnt require any coding knowledge myself) would work! or an instruction on how id do this through common events would also be nice.
If im right Omori has this system with aubrey being able to smash pots if you put her as the party leader essentially thats the system that im after

Did you checked some tutorials? Looks like you want somethign like Zelda System, so check this for example:

No, actually, it's not "pretty simple." You need to learn about Plugins, menus, and the engine as a whole first. Even experienced RPG Maker devs would invest hours and hours into it. This would be overwhelming for a beginner.

I suggest making a small game first with some basic puzzles. E.g., this one: LevelUpDesign is a cool dude, by the way!

Then you can think about whether all these Zelda-like features improve your gameplay experience and if you really want to invest hours and hours of time in implementing such a feature. RPG Maker is an RPG engine, after all, not a Zelda-like one. It is possible, but not as simple as some may think at first.

I had already geused it wasnt as simple as i thought but thanks for the video tho i shouldve looked into it a bit more

there's a plugin tsumio action for hook grappling you should check the demo



swapping party members and have them their special actions, it's another plugin i forgot where. but yes, pressing the action plugin will do something.
normally you use the skills from the menu. i think it's on map skills.




GALV has the jump skill

There's moghunter pickup and throw

This map shortcut

You could still event some things like, in Golden Sun or Pokemon, Use the skill from menu, or press the "skill button" like Page Up or Page Down on Map, depending on the Party Leader, the special skill will activate, like reveal treasures, hidden things, NPC mind diagloue, and so on.

finally got this scripted right lol... I was running into a few issues like getting the event to play when all enemies were ko'd, actors going in and out of their victory poses, etc... still need to tweak a bit tho.
Which version should I get? 2000, 2003, XP, VX, VX Ace, or MV. I'm a beginner and have no coding knowledge and also I wanna be able to add voices.
