Page opened in MV? What the heck?

I was surprised to see an update for this program. So I updated it and upon opening, there was a page shoved to the left of the game maker that looked like Rpg Maker related topics.

What the heck was that? I really hope this doesn't happen again.

So, MV just got a small update on Steam, and the patch notes mention that it includes a new default plugin and a "notification feature". Anyone has any ideas as to what that is? EDIT: Well, I probably should have just waited until I'm finished updating before asking this :rswt. For anyone...

Last I checked buying on Humble Bundle is not the standalone version; it gives you a steam key which you can redeem to add RPG Maker to your steam account.

Even by turning it off, the option mysteriously comes back by itself after a bit of time. Since the update, i've had to disable it four times already.

how can you stop even "updates" as I never ask for it as there is no option
to disable updates.

I use the desktop top version of MV which doesn't have it though
