True, I was using Manga Studio's model as a reference, and it didn't seem to change much, I'll try making a few adjustments to the body for that base.

Thank you for pointing that out. ^_^

[update]

How does it look now?:

For comparison, here is the female toned base overlaying the female adult base:

Sorry if I haven't kept this thread up to date, I've been in a block. :|
Anyway, I've been working on a drawing of one of my characters while lying in a Victorian style lounge chair (yes, I made the model for it, and it took ages to complete. )
Here is a quick look at what I've jotted down so far:

Note: this is just a reference line, and I will redraw everything in a vector layer, the hair and face is also a placement reference and the final will look nothing like it.

So, does anything look odd or out of proportion to you?
The dress position is something that I can't seem to picture correctly (I don't exactly have a model reference with a proper dress to work with. :headshake: ).

I haven't posted in here for awhile, so it's probably about time for a quick update.

Well, I've been working with a doujin circle from A Reyvateil's Melody to create a Gust series fan art book, here is a sneak peak at what will be one of my own contributions:

The final picture will include Aurica and Misha, I'm working on coloring them right now. :)

I'm also working on a couple more illustrations for the book, but have a lot a reworking to apply to them.

Joining the circle has been a great experience, I feel that my works have improved quite a bit as a result. :D

I finally got around to finishing this. :D

There are still a few more illustrations I have to work on for the art book, hopefully they'll go quicker. ^_^

not bad I think you use Clip studio Paint?

if yes then you know they have plenty tools who permit to create even more decent background

all your works is good and the color is cute haha

maybe i  can find some little errors in the background but that's just me who are Highly fanatique on the details and precision of the perspective haha

I have Manga Studio 5, which is basically the same thing only through disc, but I drew the majority of these in Sai.

Manga Studio has some great tools, but I prefer Sai when I do the line work and coloring, the character busts wips I posted at the top of this page were drawn in Manga Studio, the same goes with most of the lounge chair drawing, it depends on what I'm going for.

Personally I find Manga Studio 5 to be a little on the tedious side, where Sai is more simplistic and straight forward, both are about equal in results, only Sai requires additional tools to fulfill certain objectives.

For the above drawings, I used a combination of Sai, Manga Studio 5, FireAlpaca (which also has perspective tools), Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 and MilkShape 3D.

I used MilkShape to create 3D models to serve as references, I posed the references in Manga Studio, drew and colored my works in Sai, used FireAlpaca for perspective lines, and applied the touch ups and effects through Corel.

To point out how much I took the reference serious, here is a picture from the Eisel background model that I made:

Which I based off of graphics for Eisel's bedroom in the original game Atelier Ellie:

I see yes clip studio is really studious on the processing and you need to know your tools or you gonna have pains but once you get rid of it this a really easy software to use I mostly use clip studio Paint EX for drawing my manga....

Yes sai is simplier but lack a lots of the tool and perfomance I need for drawing my manga where I have to do 10 steps for doing a panel with clipstudio I can do that in 2 steps.

and in terms of perfomance we have to know when with sai you go above 3k pixels canvas your system lacks and crahs constantly.

as a comic maker I often works with 7k and above pixels canvas size...

and for what I works sai is totally non-sufficient for my works so I ditched this software for clip studio who offert everything's i need haha

I mostly do illustrations, which is where Sai is directed, Manga Studio is more made for manga/comics as you said.

In my case, I used to have Manga Studio 4, which I found to be a rather outstanding program that was pretty straight forward, when I switched to 5 the tools were very different, and I'm still not used to them.

When I was working on the above drawings, I was under a lot of pressure, fighting off blocks, making changes to my personal style, redrawing everything from scratch, all while trying to finish with a deadline on my shoulders, so I didn't have the time to learn the tools in Manga Studio 5.

Most of the time when I need to know something about MS5, I will find myself searching all over the internet to find a clear answer, that I rarely if ever find, the PDF help files often leave loopholes in what is said, ironically the Clip Studio website has the same help files, only in HTML form, which are significantly better; Sai has a lot of tutorials and is not as complex, so I learned to use it in a fraction of the time.

Now I do have a lot of series planned that I might make into mangas, for which case I would probably use MS5, but if it's an illustration I'd rather draw it in Sai.

I see yeah sai is good for illustration but I yeah it's took me time to get used to clip but now I am not disapointed of having made the change but I find the manual of clipstudio pretty clear actually :o

Thank you! ^_^

Well, when I'm able to, I'm hoping to restart the character bust project I was working on, if it turns out okay, I'll probably release them as a resource for developers, so it might be possible in the future. :)

Sentai Filmworks is having a contest where you have to draw a character from an anime that they have licensed, over a hand template, my drawing got selected as one of 9 finalists! :D

You can see it here: Falling - Isuzu Sento http://woobox.com/m4a2s3/gallery/wEph2NDkkcQ
The prize is 5 DVD collections, and 4 of them are of series I really love, so it would be pretty awesome to win, but there are several others that look rather nice, so I probably wont. ^_^;

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
