I've been using parallaxes for my maps and I've found some of them have this issue where the image basically loops and I'm not sure how to fix it.

You may have to check your map properties.
    Capture.PNG

If you don't want them to loop, uncheck the "Loop Horizontally" and "Loop Vertically" options.
(Assuming that's where the issue is.)

They're all set not to loop so I'm not sure what the issue is, it could be a map size thing but I'm not sure because the parallaxes are the same dimensions as the maps are

make the parallax the same or bigger as your currect screen resolution.
also make sure there is a "!" in front

    Example: !sample_map

i mean more, if you use 17x13 map inside a 20x25 screen resolution it can loop.
thats why the same or bigger.

Also see what Rockenberg said to avoid that too.

if you have a parallax map, always USE a ! , if you dont have it, it can also happen that it loop or doesn't scroll.

if you map had transparant, it will fill itself, so in that case, make the outer part all black to make it the correct size.

then your maps are too small for your resolution.

screen size = minimum map size = minimum parallax size

I'll see if I can fix that as it does mostly seem to be on the smaller maps, otherwise might it work better to do overlays with a plugin instead of parallaxes?

@Bumblefish97 that problem has absolutely nothing to do with parallaxes.

EVERY map needs to be minimum of screen size or loop, no matter if parallaxed or tiled. So if you use an overlay, you still need to make the maps bigger or they will cause problems.

just add a black outside area to your smaller maps if you don't want to increase the maps themselves.

If you use the Orange Mapshot plugin, you can output your full map as an image.
