Hi... i know, i hadn't read everything in the important threads
, and i am not popular there (this is my first thread, i dunno if i had had to present myself to the community), but I am looking for a ingame-pdfviewer plugin based in PDF.js.
You can find PDF.js over there.
What i would like (but i can't because i little know about Javascript) is to add whatever type of books or articles or papers (using them as pdfs) in the game to use them during the play.
This could help so many people to introduce their tutorials (easily to read and use), lore stories (imaging reading the chronicles of the Great War 500 hundred years after it happened
or a crazy boring school book that hides important info for the game in some paragraphs
), "handwriting" bestiaries (i mean, with less info, as it could be a book you find in a normal bookshelf
), and whatever than unleashes people imagination inside the games, via pdf books made with Word for example, or with other writing programs.
Books in the plugin should be treated as key items that would open a PDF.js Viewer Window when used, like a Bestiary or a Item Book. Obviously, we would like not to use them during battles, or monsters will rip off characters off while they are reading how to use a sword!!!!
.
It would be wonderful to make one PDFViewer.js in one that contains everything PDF.js needs, and compatibility with rpg maker mv. But I know this thing would be extremely difficult.
Of course, like PDF.js, they should be able to pass to the next or previous page, or look for a specific page number.
I dunno if this had been requested, but i know that it has not been made yet...
I also know this can be a kind of weird request or stupid as there are loads of plugins than specifically perform their tasks (Loads of Different Bestiaries, and much more), but I really believe it could help to easily insert lore in game and open new frontiers.
Well, i don't know anything more to say. I hope someone likes this crazy idea and can help everyone of us to make it.
Thank you very much
.
PD: I had finished my career in Physics, and i am currently doing some master's degrees. THIS IS NOT MY HOMEWORK!!!!
This is something i tried to do, but as i have a tiny cockroach idea of javascript, i asked.
