Ah ok. Well, I certainly look forward to seeing how it ends up when you apply the colour. That's going to look fantastic no doubt.

While I'm here, thought I'd post a screenshot. Will post some more in the near future. In the second act, which I started working on already, the team will be exploring a rather abandoned space station. It will look a lot more rundown than the shiny look of the ship interior we've seen so far.

Haha, I won't. When I said the environments are more bleak on the space station, I meant the tiles are a bit darker-looking, rough, there is broken equipment in places, and the lights are dimmer. :) I'll try to get some screenshots done and uploaded in the next few days.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it was about a month ago when I posted the first screenshot of it. :) Then shortly after that I posted the short gameplay video.

Well, as promised, I took a couple of screenshots of the new area, the abandoned space station where you party temporarily stops at.

Wow, that is really awesome, @Marquise*. Thank you so much. Those colours are perfect and I love how shiny the horse looks. And that 'S' meshes so well with the horse's tail. :D
I only wonder if it'd be readable on the small images that Steam uses during navigation (they demand the game title is readable on those), but I'm sure I'll think of something. Might isolate just the title part of it for those if necessary. I think the overall design is too good to forego in favour of it being readable on a tiny community capsule image.

Regarding the 'Gone Astray' part, I am sure we can think of something. I was thinking maybe something electronic looking, like as though it was typed up on a computer/navigation panel.

@starlight dream Didn't knew I'd read you here. I take it you never saw my non-spriting work before? (I should remedy that some day.)

@Matseb2611 You right... We should test it soon. The original anyway was made on a really small (too small) format. Thanks to those bazier curves before I rasterized everything up, there wasn't too much loss while blowing the logo up in case you'd like posters. Are Steam lil images like your lil' banners in size? In my wishlist they now had kinda blew up proportions. And I wish I could animate that Gone Astray! ^^ Well, best I find a good font then and see its TOU! :)

PS; Didn't saw the ship from outside but feel like wanting to climb aboard!

Yeah, you got it. Whenever you submit a game to Steam, there are 6 different images you have to submit with it. There are 3 big ones (Main Capsule, Large Capsule, and Header) which normally appear as those big images on the front of the store page's recommendations and at the top of the game's page. Then there's the page background. And lastly the 2 smaller images (Small Capsule and Community Capsule), which you often see on wishlists and also in the activity feed that shows the little images of the games your friends have bought and on the search page when you search a game by keywords or genre. They all have specific size dimensions of course. :)

I'll try to get a screenshot of outside the ship at some point. I edited that together out of some tiles and we occasionally get glimpses of the ship as it's being seen flying through space and getting attacked by enemy ships. :p

@Marquise* No I'm not too familiar with your art, I've only seen a couple of sprites and some drawings (that were very professional looking). I'm active on these forums for about half a year, so I'm not aware of many things :LZSoops:

But that logo must have made Matseb2611 very happy, considering it made me so excited and it's not even mine HAHA :LZSjoy:



@Matseb2611 Nice looking game so far. It's good to see more sci-fi games for rpg maker. Do you feel there are enough resources to create your game? I imagine you have to make lots of customized things.

Oh, it definitely did make me happy. Though @Marquise* already told me about it before, so I knew to expect it and I knew it would turn out well no matter what. :D

I'd say by now, after I've made so many sci-fi games in RM, it's not too difficult to find enough resources. All of the times I did have to modify, edit, or make my own bits here and there to satisfy specific scenes or specific character designs for example that existing resources could not cover. But I guess that's what actually got me to improve my pixel art skills. There are enough sci-fi resources nowadays that I think it's possible to make a full game with, but I think as with all games, if you want it to be good, you might need to make edits and modifications to existing resources here and there so that it better suits your vision.

I agree, if you don't edit things, you end up creating a game around the resources, instead of making the scenes and areas that your story needs.^^
And that goes regardless of the game's genre or resource pack used.

Your sprites look super good btw. :)
