Hello and welcome to the Development Journal for my first game in a long time. RPGmaker 2k3 was the last RPGMaker I had worked with and the last game I made was about 40% done when the files were lost. Other games I have worked on as far as I know where never released online and were just circulated among friends. This will be my first massive game I have worked on and I hope it will gain some notoriety and is also a fan game to all my favorite youtubers and streamers.

Title etc. are placeholders for the time being. A lot has yet to be decided on but the main bulk is in my head and running with it.

Synopsis: A man hoping to make a name for himself started live streaming video games. He was in a rut until The Goddess of the Internet found him and blessed him. Soon after he started to make a name for himself and in turn used his gift from the goddess to make the ultimate game for anyone to play and stream. The game seemed to grow on it's own until one day it became self aware. The programming having been tampered with started to devour the Cyber world and soon threatened the real world as well. It used the chaos it created and the despair of the people to fuel it's growth. In the Cyber world you have more power the more known you are. Having only meager power the creator went into the Cyber world and confronted his creation. He had been warned not to go alone but he didn't listen. Falling victim to a vicious trap and having all of his power drained he was transformed into a beast and barely escaped into the real world to find help. He arrived in the home of Markiplier and recruited him to help stop his game from destroying the world.

Using the blessing of the Goddess himself Markiplier recruits his friends to go forth into the Cyberworld and free the various worlds within to give the Goddess back her power. Each world is dedicated to a genre of video gaming and has been corrupted by the program. Who will he take with him to help stop this ultimate game?

Setting: The game takes place in the Cyber World. It is a world inside the internet. In the Hub world various people and game characters have fled to seek protection of the Goddess of the Internet. Through the Hub you will travel to the other lands of the Cyber World to free them from the corruption of the Game. Horror, Adventure, Puzzle, Comedy, and more. All these worlds must be freed in order to give the Goddess her power back and for the Game to become weak enough to stop.

Characters: The Markiplier crew is up for the task. Not only will you play as Mark himself but you have the choice of three versions! The Averagiplier is the typical fighter tried and true. The Roidiplier is built like a tank and can take hits all day long. The Sexiplier is almost useless in a fight if it wasn't for his exceptional Charisma and skill. Joining him is Bob who uses his immense intelligence to harness magic. Wade who uses his annoying antics to draw attention from the enemies and take the hits. Jack who uses his quick wit to blaze a path and light up the enemies and last but not least is Tiny Box Tim himself who stays true to his courage and fights to the bitter end with all the skill he can muster. There is even a secret character that can be recruited if he can get his fire back.

Features:

  1. Chose your party. Three Marks and 5 starting party choices means 15 different combinations.
  2. Different commentary based on who you pick when. Conversations will be different based on who you picked to join your party. This will also effect options of available actions as the game progresses.
  3. Helping the people of the Cyber World gives more blessing and more gifts from the Goddess. The better you make the world around you the more power she gets back.
  4. Crafting system will be added to give a more unique feel. Enemies will drop "useless" items that will be crafted to make items of use. Everything from items to equipment.
  5. Different endings based on actions taken to make the Cyber World better, how much power the Goddess regains, and MANY other things.
  6. Not planned to be a short game by any means. I am attempting to make this game at least 8-10 hours with more plans to make it even longer if I can learn fast enough.
So far the game is programmed up to picking all but one party member now. It was done up to the first world but an auto update while I was at work caused me to loose a good chunk of work.

I will be updating this post as work progresses and be posting links to my mediafire account with demos as they become playable as well.

The synopsis sounds rather interesting, which is good. The setting makes me feel that I want to play the game. I wish you good luck in the production! I look forward to seeing more of this ;)

Oh, dear!  Another Markiplier fangame on the horizon!

Not that this is a bad thing.  I think your idea's kind of brilliant.

I understand the remark about it being yet another fan game. And thank you for the comments. Sorry been getting side tracked with work. I want to add that even though this is a fan game I am using this as a learning experience to learn how to do things in RPGmaker MV that I can apply to future games. I figured if I can learn all of them in a lump sum all at once then I can use them as needed later.

Oh, I'm only saying this because I've been making one with Wilford Warfstache in it...and I've been using the experience to teach myself how to do certain things with the program.

That is what I love about RPGmaker. Make a game and learn. Then make a new game and learn again. By the time you "mastered" how to make games you have like 90+ games made.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
