@Mouser - I seriously think TL was awesome... but then again, Runic was composed of experienced people.

Torchlight was awesome, but I think Runic outdid themselves with Torchlight 2. I love that game. I'd still be playing it today if I didn't play the hell out of it when it first came out and burnt myself out on it.

I do find it funny when I hear people mock RM for not being able to make 3D games.  It's like they don't realize that you use certain tools for certain jobs.  A specialized tool is only going to be good at doing one thing, but it's going to do that one thing really well.  You don't mock a hammer for not being a saw.

I recently bought 3 RPGMaker games on Steam, I check the store page and every single one of the front page reviews is a positive one simply raving about it (Even Triple A games on Steam half the front store page reviews are negative). I can understand getting upset and disheartened if all you hear is negative negative negative but trust me when I say there IS an audience for RPGMaker games and so it's easy to just ignore the dissers and give your attention to the ones who deserve your attention, the fans.

Why didn't you get the steam version? You against Steam on principle or something?

@Engr.:

My main was an Engineer. Went 2h with him and basically made the TL2 equivalent of a Diablo Barbarian haha.

I don't do DRM. At least not when I can help it - case in point: RPG Maker. Would I prefer a DRM free game maker? Yes (especially after what the 'cogen glitch' did to my machine), but there really isn't anything else that does what RM does. I've got Pro Tools and that uses DRM (hardware side) as well, for pretty much the same reason.

Games though, I can pick and choose. The original Torchlight retail version is completely DRM free. Great game, too.

I've skipped a lot of good titles (Skyrim, anything on Origen, etc...) but there's gems like The Witcher and The Witcher 2 to pick up the slack. I bought the Witcher 2 before I had a computer that could play it (I knew I was upgrading soon). Do I care enough to start organizing protests against EA and Ubisoft? No. But I do vote with my wallet, for whatever little good that does.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
