I recognize some of your pixels from wayofthepixel, or pixel joint! Absolutely love the 16x16 rogue like tiles, hope you finish them!

And that ghost/light river painting is amazing!

How the hell do you paint short curly hair? I cannot get this dude's hair to look good no matter how many times I paint it.

I think that's a fairly solid effort. It looks curly enough for me. Only critique I can give is that his jawline is too thick

I'm currently working on this character model again. I finished the boots, but I'm kinda ambivalent about them:



I might make the zippers a darker metal. I put them on the back because I was trying to add visual interest, but now I dunno how I feel about it.

I like the buckles. I'd wear those boots. The toes seem a bit wide more like what you might find with men's boots or clogs. I agree that the buckles should be a little darker, a pewter color instead of a silver I think. The zipper is in an odd place, normally with those type of shoes the zipper would be on the inside of the leg and the straps of the buckles would end there, making the zipper go through them instead of going over the top of the zipper.

Yeah, I may move the zippers elsewhere and fiddle with the other materials at some point. I want to get the rest of the model finished first, though. Thanks for the input!

Doing hair now. Started with some FiberMesh hair in ZBrush, so this is way too high-poly for a game, but I think I can create a low-poly mesh from it with shenanigans.



This is just a default material in ZBrush. I'm gonna make one that will hopefully be better.

I'm taking a break from modeling at the moment to work on some dungeon concepts for my game. These are pretty quick and sloppy, but I'm trying to focus more on light/space/mood than details.

I love this type of concept art.  I work too much in pixels, I'm too focused on details to loosen up to that level myself, so I admire it all the more.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
