At first I thought it would be, but not quite... I'm still looking for possible improvements to it... I just actually based it off my custom picture placement script (private) and just made the pictures move over time + check for collisions and do whatever I set-up...


It's not user friendly though at least for those who don't really know how to work with scripts which is why I'm keeping it private for now... XD

there's also a mode to save chickens... XD... and I'm still planning on other minigames to add


EDIT: Since the menu script has been submitted and seems to be fine, and I don't have motivation to do the same for the battle related windows, I've been working on the update for this. I've done some optimizations yesterday to the projectile related scripts...

Update-Progress BUMP


So I've been working on an update for this (version 2.0)


So far,


-I've added two unlockable characters


-You can now activate the flames on EX mode while moving


-Working on the fourth mode, "Thunderbirds"


Here's a screenie of the two unlockables




PS: I don't have an ETA yet for Version 2.0 since I'm still planning for what more to add after the 4th mode

Thunderbirds---that sounds daunting (and dangerous). Looking forward to the update! I like the new layout of the island.

Dangerous it is... because the birds come from the samurai pack, and will stop at nothing to avenge their kind...


PS: The pillar on the left is a scoreboard, the one on the right is for changing characters... :)

yeah, I realized that it's nice to be able to view them all in just one go... XD...


I'm also thinking of adding some kinda "currency" that you win after each games which can be used to "buy" some things... but IDK what things can you possibly "buy"...

The first thing that came to mind as a thing to buy with prize money was a chicken hat haha I'm not sure what sort of other things though.


I'm not sure how feasible it would be to allow the player to unlock different addons for the minigames. Like, in Toast Chickens, a flame that can hit two chickens before vanishing or other things like that.

I'm thinking of stuff that you can to a "secret base" like 3rd gen pokemon games... The chicken hat may be nice, if I can make the hat... XD...


Adding auto-powerups actually would just be a matter of switches or variables... for activated ones, well it's just adding a way to activate it...


Maybe I'll start with the "buyable" powerups...


PS: I got 129 on EX mode, when I finally got the flames to work while moving...

Grades of Chicken that give different benefits when you use them :>

Silver and Golden Chickens, and Chocobo!

as much as they sound tasty, I probably won't be selling cooked chickens... toasting them is already harsh...  :guffaw:


PS: Oh wait... hmmm... it might actually make sense to do that... like the currency would be toasted chickens and you bring them to the shop to get it cooked more with added things... like maybe a Jalapeno roast for a fiery surprise...

The secret base idea sounds cool, especially if you allow people to buy different (chicken related) decorations for it with their hard earned reward money heh

That thunderbirds summary tease haha This should be a special add-on, eh

Yeah... I'm just gonna need to think on how to implement that base thing... the Thunderbirds would probably span a few minigames...


PS: On version 2.0, you will be able to pause the game too... :)


Finished adding acquisition of chicken credits... players of version 1.0 will have bonus credits equal to the sum of their top scores in CT and CTEX... now to work on power-ups and the first minigame of thunderbirds...

maybe I should add Makio as some kind of special character in a unstress mode or something... maybe an endless chicken punching mode...

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
