Me and my friend were debating about a topic we have very different views on, right now my game has a little power up animation to every physical skill the player uses, e,g. double cut.

My friend was saying we should reserve the animation for more powerful moves and use it sparingly to avoid needless semantics and not slow combat down. it would also make the moves you use with it more impactful.

i was saying i wanted a common animation to play for all physical skills and come up with a more powerful looking one for the bigger moves.

What do you think? which do you prefer? Thoughts?

It depends on the durations of the said animation. If it is fast I see no issue.

But if it adds too much time to the battle flow it might become annoying after some time.

RMMV
It sounds likes something i would get bored of quickly.

Think about it. A "power up" is only used in film, anime, and the strongest moves. Heck, even Dragonball Z is bashed for having to many "power ups".

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
The biggest debate we need to complete on which is better, Waffles or Pancakes?
