Pieces leaving sand around edges.

I'm making some docks at my harbor, and when i place them over the water, it leaves a sand edge around it.
This makes for really unrealistic and silly looking docks.
I cannot put the docks, or the water into BCDE tabs or else i will not be able to place my tiles on them.
Therefore I must figure out how to use the docks in tile set A, and place them over the water in tile set A, without
leaving a sandy edge.
I am using the deep water, which doesn't show sand in the graphic, not the shallow water that does show sand.
What am i to do?

Look up Shift-Right click mapping. It will allow you to place a tile without disturbing other tiles around it.
