Hello all,

I was writing to see how I could go about setting up a pixel art creator in game. I was thinking of the shirt creator in Animal Crossing as inspiration. Part of me was thinking of using a script, but was unsure if this had already been done elsewhere?

Thank you for your time.

I did a very simple version of it a while ago, but it's probably going to be very prone to lag if you have other things going on. Basically, how I did it was to use a mouse script and make every tile on the canvas into an event that you click to activate. It works, but it's not overly practical.

@TheoAllen Exactly! The mini game in Animal Crossing allowed the player to do a pixel design, using a color wheel and placing points, which then could be transferred onto the character's shirts/umbrellas in game.

@HexMozart88 That makes sense. Thank you, I appreciate the input. I was stumped and this helped to get the wheels turning in my brain. :)

I don't think this can be done by Ace - not without problems like the desccribed one event per pixel above.

To really get something like this workable it would need to be scripted, not evented.
And with Ace, the graphics library is closed source, so no one can use it for displaying something like this.

With MV you would have much better chances as the entire engine for MV (including the display functions) is OpenSource.

Get the pixel color and set pixel color is doable.
An example of getting a pixel color is when you select text color using \c[x]
An example of setting the pixel color is when you draw a gauge bar.

I'm more concerned with other unspoken requirements like how the menu will look like, how many colors, menu interaction, and function in the game design.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
