From the demo files we can see that the game library used is PixiJS v2.2.9

However, the current version is v3.0.8.

    From the blog

    http://www.goodboydigital.com/pixi-js-v3/

It seems like a lot of cool new features were added since v2.

Hopefully we will have a "patch" that will allow us to use the new version of pixi!

I'll hope, but I won't have many expectations for this.

If they don't work with PIXI internals, just changing some names "should" work...

But I will try to do it later :p

I doubt they will as that would probably require a large re-write of a lot of components assuming that they follow a.b.c where a is a non compatible release with with 2.0 and b is a feature and c is a path, so asuming the apis are different they wont release a patch

What is the main difference between V3 and V2? I know that v3 has been rewritten completely, but what are the features?

They re-wrote the whole library. Its more modular and better written using a lot of new concepts. If they did try and upgrade they would have to re-write everything they did as the API's are all different. It would probably require a delay in the release.

I think they said that they tried to keep the API the same where they could to minimize on the changes for developers.  So if an obsolete object is requested by the game engine, then it will return the new equivalent object, if one exists.  But it will write a warning out to the console log.

    oh ....

You seem to be right, how ever this would probably take more time then the few hours that the game has before its released to test, the plugins and scripts that are being included would have to be tested as well, if they do a patch after it might break peoples scripts and other issues might arise

Actually tinkering around with this right now, there is a pretty big speed increase as well as a bunch of new features. Sadly, a couple things that it relied on have to be fixed because they were depreciated, all in rpg_core.js, from what I can see so far.  Its not impossible but it is going to take some work.

A good list of things that have been changed is at http://www.goodboydigital.com/pixi-js-v3/
