So I went to keep making my game on RPXP, everything was totally fine, that was until I tried to test what I was making. Once I ran the game the player kept going left. I could move upwards and downwards just fine but as soon as I left my finger from the key the player starts to move left instantly, and everytime I press the right key it stops moving and it is still facing left. Help is appreciated.

Do you have a joystick or game controller connected to the computer?

No, I don't. All I have is my keyboard.

Sounds like it might be a sticky Left key, then. Check that.

I checked it by playing other games, and this doesn't happen anywhere else but with RPXP. I also have tried closing RPXP and reopening it to see if it could fix that way and it didn't.

As always when it comes to this issue:

Unhook ALL USB ports from your computer. Reboot. Plug the keyboard and mouse back in. Start RPG Maker and see if the problem still persists. If not, hook back all your equipment again.

one last posibility: if you have an old driver for a gamepad or a graphic tablet installed, then the (now unneccessary) driver will cause the same problem even if the device is not connected.

In that case simply deinstall that old driver - the gamepad or graphic tablet will work without that driver (the driver is only needed in older windows versions)

@Andar: I never installed any of those drivers because I never bought those devises.

@Celianna: I was about to ask you how would that solve my problem, but instead I shut my mouth and tried it, and bing bang boop it worked ... somehow. I don't know why though, the keyboard wasn't the problem, so I don't understand why it worked now all of sudden. Regardless, thank you.

It's a known issue that's caused by some sort of controller (or even your keyboard) interfering with RPG Maker, a simple reboot with it plugged out always does the trick :)

It still doesn't make sense to me, but I guess I'll leave it at that now that it's fixed. Thanks again for your help.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
