Playtest Crashes Before it Starts

Hi. I just bought RPG Maker MV on Steam and I've been playing around with it and doing very basic stuff. So far I have one map in my test game and a few events, and I changed the character designs and added a few items. No scripts/plugins or anything really original yet. For a while playtesting worked fine, but just now, every time I try to playtest the game it either gets close to loading the start screen and then closes itself, or just comes up as a black screen and then closes the playtest window. Either way, there's no sort of error message. I'm using a 2011 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.10.5. I tried restarting RPG Maker, but am still having the same problem. There's not a lot of space left on my computer, but the hard drive isn't full. What could be causing this?

I'll leave this here for now, in case there is something obvious (to others, not to you or me) about what's happening, but this might need moving to 'Technical Support'.

does it dump a console report?
check in the options section, if the console is enabled.
you should get a trace of what causes the error.

Where do I find the options section? I didn't get any report.

Click 'Tools' on the menu bar at the top. 'Options' is on the drop down list.

I clicked 'Tools' and 'Options' isn't on the list. But I did try running the playtest for like the 7th time and it finally worked. I don't know what caused it to work. But I figure having being able to send an error report to the console is important, so I'd still like to know how to do that.
