Hey guys, Ill be very apparent right now. I've got around 100 to 150 hours in RPG maker mv, I get the system for the most part. Except now I'm fully stuck. Each time I try to get my game to play through I noticed within the first 20 seconds that my playtest is loading something from months prior. (took a little break due to the same issue) Once I start my playtest, I noticed little grammar issues and fixed them. Ive done plenty more to the game and want to check ex. changed the title screen and changed the music to the start. No edits i've made are coming through.

I do have 2 plugins but they have never caused me issues: Reinforcments and Ellye'sStatesDamage

I have been scouring many different posts to see what could be the issue. I've reinstalled the game, moved folders completely. Erased the saved game data I made to test a specific part. Made sure there weren't any duplicates. (there was I delete it) Still had issues.

I started my game before I formatted. I ended up having to copy it onto a flash drive and put it back on this pc afterwords. Previously one drive was unfortunately active, scanning through whatever it wanted on my pc 5 gigs at a time. o_O I have no idea if this is part of the issue or what. I'm kinda stuck. Any ideas?

please open your project folder
is there a folder www inside it?

if yes you made the mistake and deployed into your project folder and your playtest has been redirected to that deployed version.

if that is the case, report back here and we help you repair your project folder

It's a known effect - you're not the first who made that mistake.

The repair is easy, but I still suggest making a backup before the first step in case you delete the wrong files.

1) The www folder needs to be deleted - that folder is deployment only and should not be in the project directory. It's basically a copy (an old copy) of all your resources, maps and databases at the moment of deployment.

2) make a new project elsewhere. You only need a single file from that project, afterwards it can be deleted again. You could get that file from any functioning project, but I don't know if you have such a project available, so make a new one.

3) copy the package.json file from the new project into your damaged project, overwriting the wrong packages file there.

Finished - if every step was done correctly, the playtest should now be back to the editor data including all changes you made since deployment.
However two additional advice:
- make a specific output folder for future deployment, so that this won't happen again
- always keep backups (but NOT cloudsync'ed automated backups) of your projects, there are a lot of things that can damage files and not all are as easy to repair.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
